A.J. Ramos Announces Retirement
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels relief pitcher A.J. Ramos announced his retirement from baseball on Wednesday. The nine-year veteran is hanging 'em up after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury during Spring Training. He has thrown just 7.1 innings since 2018, but earlier in his career, he posted three sub-2.85 ERAs and tallied 99 saves from 2015 to 2017. The former 21st-round pick of the Marlins defied the odds and earned an All-Star recognition in 2016. In addition to Miami and Los Angeles, he spent time in the majors with the Mets and Rockies.
