A.J. Puk Shut Down With Shoulder Strain
5 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher A.J. Puk has a mild shoulder strain and will be shut down for a few days, according to manager Bob Melvin. An MRI showed nothing structural, but he'll take a few days to rest and will be re-evaluated later in the week. Puk is a top pitching prospect and is expected to hold down a rotation spot for Oakland this season, so this is obviously discouraging news for fantasy. He is currently carrying an average draft position of 224, which would be good value for a pitcher with his upside, assuming he's healthy. For now, however, fantasy drafters will have to wait and see how he feels later in the week.
