A.J. Minter Shuts The Door For His Third Save
2 years agoAtlanta Braves relief pitcher A.J. Minter recorded his third save of the year on Saturday as he closed out the team's 4-3 victory over the Washington Nationals. He pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing two hits and no walks while striking out one. Since the team's closer Kenley Jansen (heart) was placed on the injured list in late June, we've seen Minter and William Smith record three saves each and neither has blown any save chances over that span. The last two have gone to Minter now, but both players should continue to see save chances while Jansen remains out.
