A.J. Minter Recalled From Triple-A
3 years agoThe Atlanta Braves recalled relief pitcher A.J. Minter from Triple-A on Tuesday. Fellow reliever Shane Greene was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Minter has struggled in the majors this year. Over 42 appearances, he has posted a 4.86 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP while averaging 10 K/9. However, he was pitching well at Triple-A prior to his call-up. He pitched in seven games at Triple-A and recorded six saves while giving up no hits, three walks and no runs over 7.1 innings pitched. He struck out 10 batters over his seven appearances. Minter will be one of the team's setup men in front of closer Will Smith and could work his way into high leverage work if he is effective.
