A.J. Minter Optimistic About Opening Day
6 years agoAtlanta Braves relief pitcher A.J. Minter (shoulder) has felt fine while playing catch each of the last three days and remains hopeful he'll be ready for Opening Day. Still, Minter hasn't pitched in a game since he made his spring debut on March 1 after he was shut down with left shoulder tightness. Minter was one of Atlanta's best relievers last year and helped fill in nicely in the absence of Arodys Vizcaino, but his injury may cost him a chance at the ninth-inning job to begin the season. He's strictly a speculative late-round option for those chasing saves in deep mixed leagues.
