A.J. Minter Blows First Save Of The Season On Saturday
6 years agoAtlanta Braves closer A.J. Minter blew his first save of the season during a 9-5 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Saturday night. He allowed four runs on two hits and two walks while striking out two batters. With Arodys Vizcaino (shoulder) sidelined for the foreseeable future, Minter was expected to be the frontrunner for save opportunities. Now, his horrid 9.72 ERA and 1.92 WHIP have the Braves' brass questioning what to do with their mess of a bullpen. Minter is still worth hanging onto for now, but if the Braves eventually bring in someone like Craig Kimbrel to command the ninth inning, he has no value.
