A.J. Dillon Ahead Of Jamaal Williams As Aaron Jones' Backup
5 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones undoubtedly will be the team's lead back again in 2020, but the draft capital used on rookie A.J. Dillon (second-round pick) suggests that he'll see more work as the No. 2 over Jamaal Williams. Williams saw 373 offensive snaps in 2019 as Jones' primary backup. The Packers are shifting to a more run-heavy approach, which is why they took Dillon in the second round and not a single wide receiver in last month's draft. Dillon is a threat to Jones reaching his fantasy ceiling of a year ago, but it shouldn't make him any less of an RB1 consideration in fantasy drafts this fall. Dillon is a prime handcuff for Jones owners and would be highly attractive if Jones were to go down with an injury.
