A.J. Alexy Looks Outstanding Versus Angels
4 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher A.J. Alexy made his second career start versus the Los Angeles Angels on Monday. He went six innings, one hit allowed, zero earned runs, two walks, and seven strikeouts in the 4-0 victory. Alexy has thrown 11 shutout innings since joining the Rangers rotation. He'll get a tough assignment next time against the Houston Astros. However, Alexy has been solid through two starts and is worth looking at as a streaming option for his next outing.

Twins Acquire A.J. Alexy
2 years agoThe Minnesota Twins have acquired right-hander A.J. Alexy from the Washington Nationals, per a tweet from the American League Central club's official Twitter account on Tuesday. The Twins are trading right-handed pitching prospect Cristian Jimenez to Washington in the deal. Alexy has appeared in nine games at the major-league level for the Texas Rangers over the last two seasons, throwing 30 innings in the process. The former Ranger owns a career 6.30 ERA and 6.35 FIP in the majors. He'll give the Twins some additional rotation and bullpen depth heading into the 2023 season.

Nationals Designate A.J. Alexy For Assignment
2 years agoThe Washington Nationals designated right-hander A.J. Alexy for assignment on Monday. The move was made to clear 40-man roster space for new signing Dominic Smith. Alexy pitched for the Texas Rangers this past season. He allowed 10 hits, nine earned runs, and nine walks in seven innings while striking out six batters. The right-hander also made 31 appearances for Texas' Triple-A affiliate, 16 of which were starts. In those 31 appearances, he logged 96 innings and pitched to a 5.91 ERA, a 6.88 FIP, 103 strikeouts, and 56 walks.

A.J. Alexy Designated For Assignment
2 years agoThe Texas Rangers designated right-hander A.J. Alexy for assignment on Friday to make room on the 40-man roster for the recently signed Andrew Heaney. Alexy made only four appearances for the Rangers last season, allowing nine earned runs on 10 hits while walking nine and striking out six in seven relief innings. He's made only nine major-league appearances (four starts) in the last two years, allowing 21 runs in 30 innings pitched. The 24-year-old wasn't much better at Triple-A Round Rock in 2022, posting a 5.91 ERA, a 1.71 WHIP, 103 strikeouts and 56 walks in 96 innings over 31 outings (16 starts).
