49ers Sign Kerryon Johnson To Practice Squad
3 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers have signed running back Kerryon Johnson to the team's practice squad, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The move came shortly after Raheem Mostert (knee) announced that he would be having season-ending knee surgery, leaving the team with Elijah Mitchell, JaMycal Hasty and Trey Sermon at running back. Johnson spent the first three years of his career with the Detroit Lions before the team waived him this past offseason. He was claimed by the Philadelphia Eagles, but wasn't able to make the team. The Eagles cut him due to an injury designation. Johnson has been plagued by injuries throughout his NFL career. He's a long-shot to work his way into fantasy relevance this year and should remain on waivers in all leagues for now.
