49ers Declining Option On Solomon Thomas
5 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers are declining their fifth-year option on defensive lineman Solomon Thomas on Friday, according to a source. Thomas was taken third overall in the 2017 draft but has been a bust for San Francisco. The 24-year-old has just six sacks and 93 combined tackles (73 solo) in 46 games (28 starts) in his three years in the league so far. He had two sacks, 21 combined tackles, three tackles for loss and six QB hits in 16 games (three starts) for the Niners in 2019. Thomas will continue to be a rotational pass-rusher on the team's defensive line and will become an unrestricted free agent after the 2020 season.
