49ers Asked About Aaron Rodgers
4 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers reached out to the Green Bay Packers on Wednesday about trading for quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but no formal offer was made, and a source said there is "zero percent chance" that the Packers trade the reigning NFL MVP. The Niners are focused on the NFL draft, which begins on Thursday night with the first round, and are expected to take a signal-caller with the No. 3 overall pick. But they've also been monitoring veteran quarterbacks such as Rodgers and Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson. The 49ers are just doing their due diligence here before the draft kicks off. The Packers have been trying to restructure Rodgers' contract, which still has three years remaining. While Rodgers isn't getting any younger, he's still at the top of his game, and Green Bay isn't interested in giving him up.
