BALLER MOVE: Add in 14-Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 29% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Whatever food it is they serve in Denver, it's definitely not doing any good to the big-role players around the Rocky Mountains these days. The Nuggets, injury bug or not, keep thriving and winning games as to be on the verge of snatching the no. 3 seed from the Clippers and avoiding a first-round collision with the Lakers. And although that probably has more to do with MVP-to-be Nikola Jokic and the outstanding level of play of Michael Porter Jr., it also has to do with the likes of Facundo Campazzo and PJ Dozier leveling up their games of late in time for the home stretch.
You know how it went in Denver: Jamal Murray got injured, Monte Morris followed, and Will Burton joined the shelves to hurt an already thin Nugs rotation. Enter Facu and Dozier of all men. Dozier has been the starting SG for the team in the past four games, but he was meriting it in the prior five to that as he was already playing 29 MPG in the Apr.-14-to-Apr.-23 span coming off the pine in five games while putting up nightly 10-4-3-1 lines. He kept up his efforts this past week as a starter with heavier responsibility levels, with averages bordering the 12-3-3 on virtually the same playing time.
Even though he's sharing the floor with Denver's first-unit players, Dozier is attempting 10+ FGA per game and hitting 47% of them from the floor. The true shooting isn't very nice, as he barely goes to the line, and although he's scored 1.5 3PG in his last four from Apr. 24 on those are nothing otherworldly. For someone available in a ton of leagues, starting games nightly and without much competition given Denver's injury log, Dozier is a good flier to take with upside for 20-7-3 lines if all things go his way in this or that game. Don't let the starting role fool you, though, and target Dozier only in really deep leagues.
