The NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway was run this past Sunday afternoon and it was Ross Chastain who finished off the 2023 season with a second win on the year. He held off three of the four Championship drivers, as Ryan Blaney, Kyle Larson, and William Byron finished behind him.
Chastain had the best Average Running Position (2.46) during the race, and he was followed by pole sitter, William Byron, in that statistic, who had a 3.33 Average Running Position. Kevin Harvick, who finished in seventh, had the third-best Average Running Position in the race (4.15).
All of the top five finishers in this race ranked inside the top seven when it came to Average Running Position. Second-place finisher and the Cup Series Champion, Ryan Blaney, was seventh-best when it came to Average Running Position (6.17).
