Make a “bold prediction” for this week:
Joe Nicely: Gary Woodland misses the cut. (I know I’m gonna regret this one!)
Spencer Aguiar: Billy Horschel finishes outside the top-25
Josh Bennett: Tommy Fleetwood breaks his made cut streak by missing this week
Tommy Bell: Billy Horschel, Shane Lowry, and Daniel Berger all end up in the Top 7 with one of them winning, making the top-priced golfers sub-optimal
Who is your favorite overall DFS golfer and why?
Joe Nicely: Byeong Hun An - He’s striking the ball beautifully as of late and is tremendous around the greens. Strong track record at PGA National. Just needs a “decent” putting week to be in contention.
Spencer Aguiar: Sungjae Im - Built-in safety to go along with nice upside.
Josh Bennett: Justin Rose - world class ball striker, great short game who is very underpriced in the field.
Tommy Bell: Daniel Berger/Billy Horschel - I love both of these guys based on current form, their upsides, and their history on Florida tracks. I probably like Horschel a tad more, but Berger is a bit cheaper. Long story short, I’ll have a lot of both!
What is your optimal DFS lineup building strategy?
Joe Nicely: DK pricing lends itself to “balanced” builds, which is probably the route I’ll end up taking for the most part. However, going “Stars & Scrubs” is an intriguing contrarian strategy this week on a course where literally anybody could miss the cut.
Spencer Aguiar: No preference. Believe you can make solid builds by taking all routes this weekend. PGA National is a volatile course, and there aren’t any shoe-ins to make the weekend.
Josh Bennett: Leaning towards stars and scrubs. Not excited about anyone in the middle ranges and there are some intriguing cheap names to pair with a couple expensive guys
Tommy Bell: For GPPs I’m thinking fairly balanced builds staying away from the top of the heap and focusing more on the Berger/Horschel/Lowry group paired with lower-priced, upside guys.
Who is your pick to win the tournament?
- Joe Nicely: Tommy Fleetwood
- Spencer Aguiar: Tommy Fleetwood
- Josh Bennett: Louis Oosthuizen
- Tommy Bell: Billy Horschel
