BALLER MOVE: Add in Two-Catcher Leagues
OWNED IN: 4% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS: The Orioles struck gold when they snatched veteran catcher Pedro Severino from the Nationals before the season began. He's been splitting duties behind the dish, but so far on the season he owns a very solid .272/.347/.452 slash line with 10 home runs, 27 runs scored, 29 RBI and even two stolen bases, just for good measure.
Severino's exit velocity and hard hit rate data is pretty marginal, but he does boast a nice .282 xBA, suggesting his average may not be as flukey as one might think from a guy who hit .168 in 213 plate appearances last season.
A very solid 9.3% walk rate gives him a slight boost in OBP leagues as well.
Severino will continue to split time behind the plate, which limits his value, but with catcher such a black hole this season he is still absolutely worth a look in deeper formats and those that require two catchers.
