BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 27% of Yahoo! Leagues
ANALYSIS: Orlando Arcia was absolutely cooking at the plate over the last month, and will look to build on that momentum as the second half of the season gets underway. Over Arcia’s last 29 games (100 at-bats) he slashed .330/.368/.510 with four home runs, 11 RBI and three stolen bases. He is hitting .283 on the year with eight home runs and five steals.
Arcia only hit .217 in his first taste of the major leagues last season, but has a .282/.339/.404 minor league slash line, making his 2017 numbers look sustainable in the long run. He is getting boosted by a .326 BABIP, but his speed and high ground-ball rate make him the type of player who can sustain a high BABIP over the course of a whole season.
Arcia is on his way to a 15HR/12SB season with a sustainable .280 batting average. Those types of numbers make him rosterable as a middle infielder in almost all formats, and if he is not owned in any 12-team formats or beyond, he should be scooped up right away. A strong second half will make Arcia a very hot commodity heading into next year’s drafts as well.
