Minnesota Timberwolves - NBA Betting Analysis

The Timberwolves enter today's game looking to build some momentum after a 114-108 win over the Nuggets. Anthony Edwards and his 34 led the way for the Timberwolves. Minnesota was the 4.5-point underdog heading into the game, giving them an ATS win.

With the win, the team has moved to 42-40, placing them 8th in the Western Conference. So far this season, they have gone 22-19 at home and 20-21 on the road. Minnesota's record against the spread is below .500 at 43-45.

For the season, the Timberwolves are the 18th-ranked scoring unit in the NBA at 115.8 points per game. But looking at their previous five games, the team is in danger of falling in the rankings as they have averaged just 107 points per contest. In today's game, look for the Timberwolves to try and dictate the pace of play, as their average of 101.2 possessions per game is 8th in the league. Additionally, Minnesota has shot the ball well from outside this season, ranking 7th in three-point shooting percentage (36.5%). So far, their per-game assist average of 26.2 per game is 12th in the NBA.

Defensively, the Timberwolves come into the game with a field goal percentage allowed of 46.1% (11th). Overall, Minnesota's defense is giving up an average of 113.3 points per game, ranking 18th in the NBA. Despite their struggles on the defensive glass, ranking 18th in defensive rebounds per game, they are forcing turnovers at a high clip, averaging 14.8 per game, which puts them at 5th in the league.

Denver Nuggets - NBA Betting Analysis

In Denver's most recent game, Nikola Jokic led the team in scoring with 43 points, but the Nuggets fell to the Timberwolves by a score of 114-108 to the Timberwolves. Going into the game, Denver was a 4.5-point favorite, adding an ATS loss to their resume.

Now, the Nuggets' overall record sits at 53-29, placing them 1st in the Western Conference. The team's current record at home is 34-7 and 19-22 on the road. This season, Denver's ATS record sits at 47-38.

In their last five games, the Nuggets have averaged 113 points per contest which is similar to their season average. Overall, Denver is ranked 19th in the league with a scoring average of 115.8 points per game. Denver's three-point shooting numbers have been impressive this year, ranking 4th in the NBA with a shooting percentage of 37.9%. However, their overall numbers have suffered from an average pace of 97.9 possessions per game, which is just 31st. Their current field goal percentage of 50.4% is 3rd in the league.

On the defensive end of the floor, the Nuggets have allowed opponents to shoot 46.1% from the field (11th) and are giving up 113.3 points per game which is 18th in the NBA. Although Denver is not strong on the defensive glass, ranking 18th in defensive rebounds per game, they do a good job forcing turnovers. So far, they have turned teams over an average of 13.8 times per game (3rd).

Today's NBA Betting Pick - Timberwolves vs. Nuggets

The Nuggets currently have the leg up in this year's season series against the Timberwolves. Across eight games, the Nuggets have a record of 5-3. In the previous head-to-head matchup, the Timberwolves came out on top by a score of 114-108. Minnesota went into the game as 4.5-point underdogs, giving them an ATS win. The combined 222 was less than the over/under line of 222.5.

In the Timberwolves' previous five games as the favorite, they have a straight-up record of 1-4 while going 2-3 against the spread. Across their last three road games, they are 1-2 ATS and 0-3 straight up. Their previous ten games have an over/under mark of 3-7 with an average of 225 points per contest.

Across Denver's last five games at home, they have an ATS mark of 2-3 while going 1-4 straight-up. As the favorite, the Nuggets are 2-1 straight up on an average scoring differential of 4 points per game. This has led to an ATS mark of 2-1. Their previous ten games have ended in an average of 220 points per game and an over/under mark of 4-6.

Recommended ATS Betting Pick: DEN -9.5

Recommended OU Betting Pick: Under 221.5
