BALLER MOVE: Sit in 12-Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: TE2
ANALYSIS: Noah Fant is an athletic freak at the tight end position. During the draft process, the sixth-year tight end ran an impressive 4.50 40-yard dash, prompting the Broncos to make him a first-round pick in 2019.
Despite Fant's obvious athletic gifts, he has never quite put it all together, with his best effort being a 68-catch, 670-yard, four-touchdown campaign posted back in 2021. The Broncos promptly shipped him to Seattle as part of the Russell Wilson trade in the following offseason.
Fant has been especially quiet in his two seasons since joining the Seahawks, combining to catch just 82 passes for 900 yards and four scores in Seattle.

The sliver of hope and a factor that has made Fant a popular sleeper this season is Seattle's new offensive coordinator, Ryan Grubb. Grubb spent the past two seasons in college calling the plays for an explosive Washington Huskies offense. The 48-year-old coordinator has built a well-respected reputation thanks to his engineering of prolific passing attacks.
The Seahawks' Week 1 matchup is also encouraging as Seattle faces Fant's old team, the Broncos. Denver was shredded by tight ends in 2023, allowing the most fantasy points per game to the position.
While Fant should benefit from the coaching staff change, and there is plenty to be encouraged by, it would be best to treat him as a low-end TE2 for Week 1, at least until we see how the Seahawks deploy Fant and the rest of the Seattle tight ends in their new-look offense.
