Noah Fant (TE, DEN) - Fantasy Football Draft Values

ANALYSIS: Like it or not, the Broncos are a sleeper pick to make the playoffs in 2020. Denver does indeed have some intriguing fantasy prospects who could have a breakout season starting with now surefire starting-QB Drew Lock, and also second-year tight end Noah Fant. If we know anything about TEs is that they struggle as rookies, and go on to improve a lot as sophomores. Sounds good? Let's see.

In his first year as a pro, Fant got 40 receptions on 66 targets for a grand total of 562 yards and three touchdowns on the year. Those numbers averaged to 35.1 yards per game in the 16 contests he went on to play. He had 388 yards after the catch and only five dropped passes. Keep in mind that Fant had to "endure" QB Joe Flacco for most of the year, which wasn't doing him any favor to rack up stats. He will enter 2020 sharing the field with a bolstered offense that will feature RBs Melvin Gordon and Phillip Lindsay, and WRs Jerry Jeudy, K.J. Hamler, and Courtland Sutton. That's some big-time backfield paired with a young and ready-to-show bunch of receivers.

There is no doubt Fant is the TE1 of these Broncos (he'll be backed up by Nick Vannett and Jeff Heuerman, not real threats) and based on his fantasy and stat ranks from last year (111 PPR, TE16), consider Fant a high-end TE2 with very reasonable upside to finish as a mid-to-low-end TE1 in 2020. Fant is getting drafted as the TE12 these days, but projects to finish as TE10 by PFF latest numbers (144 PPR over 16 games). Don't wait until the 10th+ round to draft Fant and secure him earlier as your TE1 for the season; he won't disappoint.
