ANALYSIS: Houston Texans wide receiver Noah Brown had a surprising Week 9 performance, catching six passes for 153 yards and a score. It seemed like the kind of thing that just happened, you know? Like, sure, Brown had one big game, but he was still Noah Brown. It wouldn't happen again.
Then it happened again, just one week later. Brown caught seven passes for 172 yards this week and was targeted eight times. Sure, Nico Collins being out contributed to that, but this game was proof that Brown's Week 9 showing wasn't a fluke.
Collins could be back as soon as Week 11, which should cut into Brown's upside, but he's clearly earned a sizable role going forward. If nothing else, Collins returning means that Brown would fall to the No. 3 role, but he'd still be fairly far ahead of Robert Woods in the pecking order.
This Houston Texans offense has been extremely good lately, with rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud consistently putting up some big numbers. As long as he keeps doing that, Brown should have some more good games ahead of him, though expecting him to consistently go over 100 yards is likely a little too much. Temper expectations some, but Brown should play a lot for Houston going forward.
