Nick Castellanos enters his third full season in the big leagues as a once highly-touted prospect who has yet to fully reach his potential. Known in the minors for his bat, Castellanos has hit just .257/.304/.402 with 26 HR in 1192 plate appearances. But despite lackluster career numbers thus far, Castellanos remains a high-upside player entering his age-24 season. The Tigers third baseman showed an increase in 2015 in ISO (.164), SLG (.419), and HR/FB (9.2%). Perhaps most promising, though, were Castellanos' second-half numbers for last year. He exercised more plate discipline than in the first half and worked his way to an .800 OPS while swatting 9 HR in 267 PA. If he can continue to show patience at the plate and cut down on his career 24.6% K rate, he could prove to be a nice value pick in the later rounds of your upcoming fantasy draft.
