ANALYSIS: Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Nick Ahmed has a hit in each of the last three games, seeing his fantasy stock rise once again. Ahmed has a multi-hit game in each of the last two games, scoring a run in each of the last two games, pitching in an RBI on August 22 as well. He has a .266 batting average since the beginning of August, hitting two home runs and two doubles while stealing two bases.
Ahmed has made the most of Jake Lamb being out of the lineup and has mainly been hitting sixth of seventh in the Diamondbacks' lineup. He now has 19 extra-base hits since the beginning of July, including 11 doubles, and has 46 R+BI in the same time period. Ahmed's power streak is unparalleled in his MLB career, but he also has a 44.5% hard hit ball rate since July 1.
Holding a 42.3% hard hit ball rate through August, Ahmed is still a player to hold. His 45.1% ground ball rate shows why his batting average is down a bit, but, if he continues to hit the ball well, the stats will come. Add Ahmed in deeper leagues.
