NHL Waiver Wire Adds: 10/23 to 10/29
I will be looking for players who have possibly been moved up in the lineup, have a favorable schedule this week, or might be getting a boost because of injury.
DISCLOSURE: Make sure to monitor the NHL news feeds for the latest player status and injury news.
Goalies
Jordan Binnington
Opponents this week - Winnipeg, Calgary, Vancouver Canucks
Binnington is currently only on the roster of 54% of ESPN leagues. I believe this is due to his performance in previous seasons, rather than his current play. He has only allowed four goals in three games this season, with a .959 save percentage and 1.26 GAA. Although he can be streaky, it is worth taking advantage of his current hot streak. The Blues have two winnable games this week against the Jets and the Flames, and Binnington is expected to start in both.
Other options
- Ville Husso ESPN rostered 34%
Forwards
Opponents - Nashville, St.Louis, New York Rangers
Mikheyev is currently only rostered in 1.3% of ESPN leagues. However, he was recently moved up to the top line alongside Pettersson and Kuzmenko and managed to get 4 shots and an assist. The Canucks have scored at least 3 goals in every game this season, except for one. Hopefully, Mikheyev can maintain his speed and stay on the top line for an extended period of time. Additionally, he is on PP2 which will provide him with some extra opportunities depending on your league's scoring rules.

- Teuvo Teravainen ESPN rostered 59%

Defensemen
Mario Ferraro
Opponents - Florida, Tampa Bay, Carolina
It's surprising to see that Ferraro is only rostered in 1.9% of ESPN leagues. As the Sharks' top defenseman now with Karlsson gone, he leads them in shots with 14 and blocks with 16 in just 5 games. I expect him to continue his good form, especially with the tough teams the Sharks will face on their upcoming road trip. If your league scoring includes blocked shots, then he's an absolute must-add.

- Jonas Brodin ESPN rostered 4.3%
