Jon Irvin's NHL DFS picks for today's contests on FanDuel and DraftKings. Use Jon's picks to win money playing NHL DFS on 4/7/25.
Hey, RotoBallers! I want to introduce myself formally. My name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels, and you know I love breaking down DFS slates, especially in MLB and NHL. I enjoy deep dumpster diving, so to speak, and look forward to helping find the low-owned, overlooked, and unwanted plays.
I predominantly play on DraftKings, so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system, but a good spot is a good spot regardless of the platform.
Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends. We're so glad you could attend. Come inside! Today's DFS content will be for the main slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel for Monday, April 7, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. EDT. Congratulations to Alex Ovechkin for becoming the NHL's scoring leader and passing the great Wayne Gretzky! We now shift our focus to the playoff race, where a few teams on tonight's docket need a win to stay in contention, including the surging Calgary Flames visiting San Jose.

This looks at the average between the L25 and L10, weighing the L10 heavier to help find specific positive or negative trends.
DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks
Value in net is key on DK with a three-point bonus at the 35-save mark. We can afford to give up an extra goal or two if our goalie can see a steady shot volume against him. Those extra few hundred can get us those top-line forwards.
Andrei Vasilevskiy - DK $7.6K || FD $7.9K
Opponent - New York Rangers
The goalie bin is thin tonight. The netminders projected for the highest shot volumes have all been shaky. Vasil comes at a slight discount, and even though his save production rarely reaches 30, his win probability carries weight, especially on FD.
Others to consider: Joey Daccord (DK $7.2K || FD $7.2K)
DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks
Adam Lowry - DK $3.2K || FD $4.6K
Opponent - St. Louis Blues
Lowry and the Jets host the hottest team in the NHL, winners of their last 12 games, the St. Louis Blues. Adam's L10 home metrics are outstanding, finding plenty of high-danger chances, just not finishing. His xGF sits two goals over his actual GF/60, which shows the production is far from overdue.
Others to consider: Adam Henrique ( DK $4.5K || FD $4.5K)
DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks
Matt Coronato - DK $5.0K || FD $5.4K
Opponent- San Jose Sharks
It was tough to pick one value winger amongst all the Flames who face the Sharks tonight. Coronato and the rest of L2 have full PP1 correlation, which brings them to the top of the list. Coronato is a tad pricy for his floor, which is a concern, but his propensity to shoot the puck should keep him in a good position for a ceiling performance.
Others to consider: Trent Frederic (DK $3.5K || FD $3.4K)
DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks
When selecting defensemen, especially on DK, I tend to find players with a high chance at both blocks and shots and not concentrate so much on point dependency.
Jack Thompson - DK $3.2K || FD $4.4K
Opponent - Calgary Flames
With Shakir Mukhamadullin still expected to be out tonight, Thompson should continue to see a solid supply of minutes. Thompson's ceiling is slightly limited without time on either PP or PK unit, though a supplier of both shots and blocks gives potential to a solid value play.
Others to consider: Lucas Carlsson (DK $3.2K || FD $4.4K)
My top 25 defensemen chart focuses more on shot and block peripherals to find a safer floor over the last month.
