NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 12/12/21
The puck bouncing hasn't been the greatest as of late, but things are looking up and I'll do my best to guide us all to the valley of green. Five games starting at 7 p.m. EST and no true standout favorites when looking at the matchups.
We also have a few teams on the second-half of a back-to-back tonight: Anaheim, St. Louis, Minnesota and Carolina. The Avalanche take ownership for the league's sixth-worst goals against (3.4) hosting the Panthers while the Wild will look to weaponize their second-best offense (3.7) when they go to Sin City.
NHL DFS Goalies
Antti Raanta- DK $7.9K || FD $7.9K
Opponent - Vancouver Canucks
Raanta has been riding the rollercoaster of doom so far this season with a mixture of results. However, there is no better time to get right than here. The Canucks have started their new life under Boudreau with a spark, however, Carolina is one of their toughest matchups yet with the new bench boss. The Hurricanes currently sport the second-best goals against (2.19) in the league.
Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Gillies(DK $8.3K || FD $6.5K), Georgiev(DK $8K || FD $8.2K), Stolarz(DK $7.1K || FD $6.8K)
NHL DFS Centers
Centers
Jordan Staal-DK $2.6K || FD $3.7K
Opponent - Vancouver Canucks
We will continue the band of Hurricanes with the veteran pivot, Staal. He has not been wildly successful over the past few seasons when analyzing his scoring habits. However, he continues to center teammate Andrei Svechnikov and at minimum salary, all you need is a single bounce of the puck.
Ryan Strome- DK $4.8K || FD $5.8K
Opponent - Nashville Predators
Stromer has died down a little, but he is still lighting the lamp with the help of teammate Artemi Panarin. The two of them have combined for the majority of the Rangers’ offense as of late and they will get another prime chance in a fast-paced matchup.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): MacKinnon(DK $9.4K || FD 9.8K), Aho(DK $6.7K || FD $9K), Hartman(DK $6.5K || FD $6.3K), Pettersson(DK $4.4K || FD $5.6K), Karlsson(DK $3.9K || FD $4.8K)
NHL DFS Wings
Wings
Andre Burakovsky- DK $3.8K || FD $5K
Opponent - Florida Panthers
Florida has not been the greatest defensively as of late and it does not bode well playing against the league-leading (4.35) goals per game Colorado Avalanche. Gabriel Landeskog has yet to be cleared for this meeting, leaving Burakovsky to once again slide into the wing alongside Nathan MacKinnon.
Max Pacioretty- DK $7.7K || FD $9.7K
Opponent - Minnesota Wild
Patches is lighting the lamp even when he isn’t on the ice, that is how good he is. Since his debut in nine appearances, he has a 9-5-14 line with 47 shots. That is an average of five shots per match. Even against the Wild, he will be able to do damage and at $7.7K on DraftKings that is a steal.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Panarin(DK $6.8K || FD $8.9K), Tarasenko(DK $5.9K || FD $6.9K), Stone(DK $5.6K || FD $7.5K), Zuccarello(DK $5.2K || FD $6K), Teravainen(DK $5.1K || FD $6.8K)
NHL DFS Defensemen
Defense
Alex Pietrangelo- DK $6.6K || FD $6.7K
Opponent - Minnesota Wild
There are not many well-priced defenders for their production on the slate, but Pietrangelo is surely one of the few. The defenseman continues to offer a solid two-way game with 14.0 shots and 8.0 shots blocked over his last five appearances. He also has a 0-6-6 line as well. Even if he does not produce any points against the Wild, he will still offer a respectable floor.
Matt Dumba- DK $5.6K || FD $4.7K
Opponent - Vegas Golden Knights
This play will all boil down to if teammate Jonas Brodin is healthy or not. If he isn't, Dumba is a massive play for his price. The defender has struggled to find success this season, but he does have two assists and four shots over his last two appearances. In an elevated role and power-play time, this is a great get-right spot.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Josi(DK $7.2K || FD $7.4K), Fox(DK $6.9K || FD $7.3K), Trouba(DK $5.4K || FD $5.7K), Slavin(DK $4.7K || FD $5.2K), Drysdale(DK $4.4K || FD $4.3K)
