NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 12/6/21
As I am writing this, my article from yesterday is already in flames with the Flyers looking like pre-schoolers learning how to play hockey for the first time. Anyhow, two teams are playing in the second-half of the back-to-backs and it is the Flyers and Kings. Many will be amazed if the Flyers look any better tomorrow than what they are looking right now at home. Nevertheless, Colorado will be the largest favorite on the slate with the Penguins not too far behind them.
Arizona will take their league’s third-worst goals against (3.59) to Dallas and Colorado will travel to Philadelphia with their league’s best goals for (3.98).
NHL DFS Goalies
Tristan Jarry- DK $7.9K || FD $8.4K
Opponent - Seattle Kraken
Jarry has been phenomenal and the complete opposite of what he was last season for the Penguins. He is currently sporting a solid 1.92 goals against and a 0.934 save percentage so far this season. Going against one of the weaker offenses in the league, the Penguins will look to cap their West Coast trip with a solid final win.
Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Oettinger(DK $8.2K || FD $8.1K), Blackwood(DK $8.1K || FD $7.1K), Quick(DK $7.6K || FD $6.9K), Gibson(DK $7.2K || FD $7.4K)
NHL DFS Centers
Sidney Crosby-DK $7.4K || FD $7.9K
Opponent - Seattle Kraken
After starting the season in a lull following an extended period of time away from the ice due to wrist surgery, Crosby is now in full force with a 2-7-9 line and 15 shots over his last five appearances. It also helps that his teammate Jake Guentzel is also one of the hottest scorers in the league right now.
Nico Hischier- DK $5K || FD $4.6K
Opponent - New Jersey Devils
Hischier has yet to live up to his potential, but with Hughes at his side, he may finally find his stride. Ottawa has now won two straight games, however, it is hard to trust that they are going to be consistently successful. As long as Hischier is still under $6K he is most certainly worth a shot. In his last two appearances, he has totaled 7.0 shots and 2.0 blocked shots.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): MacKinnon(DK $9.2K || FD 9.2K), Kopitar(DK $6.7K || FD $8.3K), Zegras(DK $5.2K || FD $5.9K), Hayes(DK $3.2K || FD $4.1K)
NHL DFS Wings
Wings
Evan Rodriguez- DK $4.9K || FD $5.1K
Opponent - Seattle Kraken
Although I wanted to highlight Jake Guentzel here, I could not pass up on his cheaper linemate Rodriguez. Since going to the top line with Guentzel and Crosby, Rodriguez has been a shooting machine and he has offered every ounce of offense he has. In his last five appearances, he only has a 1-1-2 line, but he does have 26 shots. For under $5K on DraftKings, playing on one of the hottest lines against one of the weaker defenses in the league, this is a no-brainer.
Cam Atkinson- DK $3.9K || FD $5.3K
Opponent - Colorado Avalanche
No, you are not seeing double and yes this is the second day in a row where we are talking about Atkinson. It turns out that the Flyers are being a little smarter than what we initially thought of them. They have finally put together their best offensive line with Giroux, Couturier and Atkinson. For sub $4K on DraftKings, this is a prime opportunity against a confusing weak Avalanche defense.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Rantanen(DK $8.8K || FD $8.2K), Tkachuk(DK $5.7K || FD $7.1K), Robertson(DK $5.6K || FD $5.9K), Zacha(DK $4.3K || FD $4.5K), Sheary(DK $3.3K || FD $4.2K), Heinen(DK $2.5K || FD $3.9K)
NHL DFS Defensemen
Defense
Dougie Hamilton- DK $7.6K || FD $7.2K
Opponent - Ottawa Senators
There may not be any other player on the slate with as high of a floor and ceiling as Hamilton in this matchup. He is just shy of a point-per-game pace and over his last five appearances, he has a 1-4-5 line along with 27 shots and 8 blocked shots. Plug him in and watch the green collect.
Samuel Girard- DK $4.6K || FD $4.9K
Opponent - Philadelphia Flyers
Since we don’t have much information regarding Nazem Kadri or Cale Makar, we are going to proceed as if they will miss this contest as well. Girard in Makar’s absence took over his spot on the top pairing with Devon Toews and he also quarterbacked the top power-play for the Avalanche. At sub $5K against a terrible Flyers team, this is a prime spot.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Letang(DK $7.1K || FD $6.6K), Doughty(DK $6.2K || FD $6.2K), Ekman-Larsson(DK $4.4K || FD $4.2K), Durzi(DK $3.9K || FD $4.6K), Drysdale(DK $3.5K || FD $4K), Marino(DK $2.9K || FD $3.9K)
