Welcome to the Daily Fantasy Hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks article for April 2nd of the 2015/2016 NHL season. Each day we'll be providing you with a handful of forward, defensemen, and goaltender picks for DraftKings and FanDuel GPP and cash games.

Another busy night in the NHL with eight games on the schedule for the main slate starting at 7:00 PM et. The Washington Capitals and Detroit Red Wings are the only teams playing on back to back nights. The Caps along with the Ottawa Senators and Calgary Flames are also playing a third game in four nights and could be skating on tired legs.

As of Friday night there are three goalies(Cory Schneider-NJ, Mike Condon-MTL, Roberto Luongo-FLA) confirmed starting. Be sure to double check LeftWingLock prior to lineup lock.

NHL DFS Picks for Saturday, April 2nd

A couple strategy notes. For cash game construction look for players who can contribute to your score when they are not providing offense. Examples are guys who take a ton of shots, defensemen who block a lot of shots(DraftKings). Also, look for guys who get powerplay time and especially Top 6 forwards. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury or just get a promotion and more ice time.

For large field tournaments (GPP's) you want to find payers who have multi point upside and can grab double digit fantasy points. To stack the most upside in your forwards a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone. Try and look for a D man who will be playing more PP time or might get a boost in overall playing time due to an injury.

Let's take a look at some solid plays for today's action.

Henrik Lundqvist - Goaltender, Rangers (Draftkings - $8,500  FanDuel - $9,600)

King Henrik is experiencing another rough patch allowing two or more goals in seven of his last nine games. He will be in a great spot to snap out tonight as the Rangers are home favorites vs. the Sabres. The Rangers are in need of a big game from Lundy as their lead for 3rd in the Metropolitan Division has been reduced to two points over the Islanders.

Connor McDavid - Center, Oilers (DraftKings - $7,200  FanDuel - $7,300)

If it wasn't for missing nearly half a season with injury, he would be the no doubt rookie of the year as projected in the pre season. He has been terrific for the Oilers with 45 points in 42 games and is one of the most consistent fantasy options in the league at just 19 years old. He is a must play almost every night and gets a terrific matchup vs. the Flames and their 30th ranked defense.

James Neal - Winger, Predators (DraftKings - $6,600  FanDuel - $7,400)

He has been one of the hottest players in the league lately with 13 points in his last nine games. He has provided a very safe floor averaging over four shots a game in those nine games and also comes with huge upside with five multi point games.

Dylan Larkin - Winger, Red Wings (DraftKings - $5,200  FanDuel - $4,900)

The rookie has been up and down lately but scored again last night in a huge win for the Red Wings and has goals in two of his last three games. His price is very affordable and he provides tremendous value for cash games as he has recorded 38 shots in his last 10 games. Stack with Henrick Zetterberg and Justin Abdelkader for GPP's.

Keith Yandle - Defense, Rangers (DraftKings - $5,100  FanDuel - $4,900)

He comes in to this game having picked up points in three of his last four games with two games being multi point efforts. He is hard to trust for cash games on FanDuel as the shot volume just isn't there but at a similar price on DraftKings he is safe as he adds over a block a  game.
