NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 10/09/24

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

Sam Montembault - DK $7.2K || FD $7.3K

Opponent - Toronto Maple Leafs

I never pay up for goalies in DFS because it seems like a bit of a gamble. My advice is to focus on building your main stack first, and then find a goalie that fits into that lineup. Montembault starting the season opener at home is hopefully a good sign and could lead to around 35 saves and maybe 4 goals or less.

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

Pius Suter- DK $3.0K || FD $3.9K

Opponent - Calgary Flames

With several key NHL players scheduled to play simultaneously, we need to identify viable options that will allow us to include them in our lineup. I recommend considering Mr. Suter, who, in two home games against the Flames last year, contributed significantly with one assist, five shots, and five high-danger chances. This season, he is expected to be an integral part of the Canucks' potent third line, alongside Garland and Hoaglander, further enhancing his appeal as a valuable pick.

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

Anthony Beauvillier - DK $2.9K || FD $3.8K

Opponent - New York Rangers

Whenever we have the opportunity to roster a first-line player for under $3k, it's important to consider that player. If that player is also playing on Crosby's wing, he becomes a great value option for us, allowing us to afford the top-tier players on this slate.

Beauvillier offers more than just being on Crosby's wing. After being traded to Nashville last season, on home ice he led the Predators in SF/60, was second in XGF/60, and third in HDCF/60. So, it's no accident he is getting a chance on the top line.

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

Mike Matheson - DK $6.0K || FD $5.9K

Opponent - Toronto Maple Leafs

It really doesn't get much better than Toronto and Montreal for their season opener. Montreal always gets up to play the Leafs, so I expect them to come out flying tonight. Matheson should be right in the middle of it all. In three games against the Leafs last season, he had 1 goal, 4 assists, 7 shots, and 10 blocked shots, for an average of 19.3 FPG, or almost twice his seasonal average. He makes for a great one-off if stacking elsewhere.
