Dome Games (No Weather Impact)
Some games in Wild Card Weekend will benefit from being played in domed stadiums, where the weather won't affect the outcome. These indoor venues provide a consistent environment.
Cleveland Browns @ Houston Texans
Green Bay Packers @ Dallas Cowboys
Los Angeles Rams @ Detroit Lions
Severe Weather Impact
All three outdoor matchups could be in for severe weather in the first round of the playoffs.
Miami Dolphins at Kansas City Chiefs
The Dolphins head to Arrowhead Stadium for a playoff matchup against the Chiefs in some insanely cold weather. The temperatures are expected to be in the low negatives, with wind chills around negative 30 degrees, entering Ice Bowl territory. Snow is being forecasted for the day before, and the winds are predicted to be around 15 miles per hour. In these historically low temperatures, it is advisable to avoid players in the passing game like Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce, but players like Isiah Pacheco could be in for big days on the ground.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Buffalo Bills
The Steelers take on the AFC East champion Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium on Sunday, and the weather is exactly what you would expect for Buffalo in January. Temperatures are expected to be in the low 20s with ridiculously strong 33-mile-per-hour winds. There's a 96 percent chance of snow, and six to 10 inches are expected to accumulate after the one to three inches that are expected in the days prior. During daytime, the probability of snow is 96 percent for nine hours with wind gusts up to 55 miles per hour. If the game is in Buffalo, it is advisable to avoid anyone in this game if possible.
Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Philadelphia travels to Tampa Bay to take on the NFC South champion Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium. While this game isn't going to be in freezing cold conditions, the weather isn't looking much more promising in Florida. Temperatures are expected to be in the low 60s around game time on Monday night, but there's a 77 percent probability of rain along with a 15 percent chance of thunderstorms at night. It's expected to rain for around four hours, and the game is likely to be very wet in Tampa. D'Andre Swift and Rachaad White could benefit if the rain is as bad as expected.
