Justin Fields Thursday Injury Update
Justin Fields (thumb) is officially listed as doubtful to face the Carolina Panthers on Thursday Night Football and is not expected to play. Fields has not played since being knocked out of the Week 6 loss to the Minnesota Vikings due to a dislocated thumb:
Panthers Injury Report and Inactives Tonight
Star edge rusher Brian Burns (concussion) will not play on Thursday Night. Neither will cornerback C.J. Henderson (concussion), wide receiver, Laviska Shenault Jr. (ankle), and tight end Stephen Sullivan (shoulder).
Safety Xavier Woods (thigh) is questionable, and wide receiver DJ Chark (elbow) is doubtful. It's rare for a players to be active after being given a "doubtful) designation, so it's safe to say he won't play in Week 10.
Bears Injury Report and Inactives Tonight
Bears fullback Khari Blasingame (concussion), guard Nate Davis (ankle), Tremaine Edmunds (knee) and defensive back Terell Smith (illness) will not suit up against the Panthers. Justin Fields, who is doubtful with a thumb injury, is also not expected to play. This means Tyson Bagent will draw his fourth start straight.
Running back Khalil Herbert (ankle), defensive back Josh Blackwell (hamstring), and wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown (hamstring) are all listed as questionable. Those three players on are the Injured Reserve list, but all of them have been designated to return. However, recent reports have suggested Herbert is unlikely to suit up. This means D'Onta Foreman and Roschon Johnson will be Chicago's lead backs.
Cole Kmet (knee) missed practice on Monday, but practiced in full the next two days and was removed from the injury report.
