The Jacksonville Jaguars typically have an early first-round pick. They owned the top pick in the 2021 and 2022 NFL Draft, selecting Trevor Lawrence and Travon Walker.

However, the team won the AFC South in 2022 and had the 24th overall pick in the draft. After two minor trades with the New York Giants and Buffalo Bills, the Jaguars had the 27th pick in the first round.

Who Did The Jacksonville Jaguars Draft On Offense?

Following their two minor trades with the Giants and Bills, the Jaguars used their first-round pick on Oklahoma offensive tackle Anton Harrison. The team learned shortly before the NFL Draft that starting left tackle Cam Robinson is facing a multi-game suspension.

Yet, Jacksonville’s most controversial pick was in the second round. They selected Penn State tight end, Brenton Strange. The former Nittany Lion had only 70 receptions for 755 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns in his career. However, ESPN’s Todd McShay says Strange is possibly the most underrated player in the draft class.

Jacksonville used their third-round pick on Auburn running back Tank Bigsby. He should earn the No. 2 role behind Travis Etienne as a rookie. Meanwhile, the Jaguars also used a sixth-round pick on Penn State wide receiver Parker Washington and a seventh-round selection on Appalachian State offensive tackle Cooper Hodges. After the team used their first three picks on offense, the Jaguars turned their attention to the defense. They selected Florida linebacker Ventrell Miller in the fourth round. The former Gator had a career-high 8.5 tackles for a loss last year and is an elite tackler.

The Jaguars continued to add to their defense on Day 3. They spent a fourth-round pick on Oklahoma State edge rusher Tyler Lacy. The former Cowboy had 20 tackles for a loss and 6.5 sacks over the past two years.

Jacksonville also spent Day 3 picks on Louisville linebacker Yasir Abdullah, Texas A&M safety Antonio Johnson, Rutgers cornerback Christian Braswell, Pittsburgh defensive back Erick Hallett, North Carolina defensive lineman Raymond Vohasek, and Houston edge rusher Derek Parish. All six players must have an impressive training camp to have a significant role as a rookie.
