Fantasy Football Daily Leagues – Lineup Picks for Week 2
A third installment of the aptly titled "Manning Bowl" will be held at MetLife Stadium this afternoon. It will be very interesting to see what exactly older brother Peyton has in store for an encore to the seven touchdown performance that kicked off the NFL season. The safe money is on him not being able to produce a repeat of those stats, but something close is definitely in the realm of possibilities for the highest priced player of the week.
For those that desire the opportunity to cash in on Peyton Manning's possible second consecutive explosion, locating less expensive options that could deliver nice production will be vital to your success. The following list will provide a suggestion for every offensive position on your roster.
- Ryan Tannehill QB-MIA ($11,430) - Tannehill is the 25th ranked quarterback on DraftStreet for today. That ranking seems a bit low. The Dolphins' second year starter under center played well in a win over Cleveland last week going 24 of 38 for 272 yards and a score. The ability to put up those numbers with the newly acquired Mike Wallace being held to just one reception is impressive. The former Texas A&M standout could easily have a very solid game against a Colts defense that allowed Terrelle Pryor a 65% completion rate and 329 yards of total offense last Sunday.
- DeAngelo Williams RB-CAR ($8,101) - Williams has been frustrating to fantasy owners and Panthers fans alike for quite some time now. The MVP caliber 2008-'09 season in which he delivered over 1500 yards rushing and 18 touchdowns feels as if it happened several decades ago. Last week, however, the now 30 year old running back reminded everyone that he still has some gas left in the tank by managing to grind out a surprising 86 yards on 17 carries against a Seattle defense that is one of the league's best. The Bills could not stop New England's rushing attack in Week 1. Do not look for that to change against Carolina.
- Kenny Stills WR-NO ($4,629) - Any player that figures to receive targets in the Saints' passing attack is typically worth placing on your roster in any format. As a rookie, Stills has yet to really make himself known. As the new deep threat for Drew Brees, he did put up 86 yards on just a pair of catches last week versus the Falcons. More of the same should be in store for the young route runner against the Buccaneers and for the duration of the season.
- Coby Fleener TE-IND ($3,884) - Last season, Andrew Luck connected on pass attempts with the Colts' duo of rookie tight ends a combined 71 times. With Dwayne Allen listed as doubtful for today's contest with the Dolphins, Fleener will step into the number one spot on the depth chart. Luck and Fleener formed quite a chemistry in the passing game during their days at Stanford and just might put it on display this afternoon. At this price, there is little chance of getting burned.
