It's Week 9 – the season is kicking into high gear, and hopefully, you have weathered the injury storm so far, as this is the time of year when teams begin to separate from the pack. The waiver wire pipeline is flowing powerfully right now, and there are some interesting adds that can help sustain your pace.
This year, we're tossing out our old convention of separating waiver wire posts into positions, and instead, we're separating them into of league -- standard, shallow, deep, etc. The NBA is trending to positionless basketball, so we at RotoBaller should too.
For shallow (8-10 team) league adds, we use a general rule of thumb of an ownership rate of under 65% on Yahoo. All position eligibility based on Yahoo leagues.

Shallow League Adds for Week 9
Taurean Prince, SF – Atlanta Hawks
Ownership: 58%
12.6 PPG / 5.3 REB / 2.4 AST / .439 FG%
Taurean Prince is part of the future in Atlanta, and he can be part of your future in fantasy as well. Prince was a sleeper for many entering this season, and he has paid back his dividends to those who believed in him, producing top 100 value at low cost, while building his confidence and leadership skills on the rebuilding Hawks. Prince has taken a huge step up in his game this year, and while his percentages are a bit low, his all-around skill set in worth the hit.
Prince gets it done on both halves of the court, as he adds in 1.2 steals, 1.7 three-pointers and 0.6 blocks per game so far this year, and he has been picking up steam lately with improved shooting from the field. His minutes aren't going to be threatened with the return of Ersan Ilyasova, as he has proved his worth in Atlanta, and I think he has proven his worth for to fantasy squad as well. It seems like it can only get better from here with Prince, as he is handling the pressure of big minutes quite well.
Al-Farouq Aminu, SF/PF – Portland Trail Blazers
Ownership 56%
9.5 PPG / 7.0 REB / 2.0 2PM / .448 FG%
Al-Farouq Aminu spent most of the first quarter of the season on the sidelines after a promising start to the season and is building upon that strong start now that he is back. After starting his first two games back on the bench, Aminu has entered the starting lineup again and is showing some serious signs of potential as a well rounded forward that provides consistency.
Aminu has seen improvement in his game this season, especially in his shooting, as he is shooting at a career clip this season, and drilling treys as well. In his first two starts since returning from injury, he put up 17 and 15 points with five triples in each game. Add that in with a .857 FT% , a steady stream of boards, and contributions in assists, steals, and blocks and you have a low-key stud in Aminu.
Jeremy Lamb, SG/SF – Charlotte Hornets
Ownership 53%
14.8 PPG / 4.9 REB / 3.0 AST / .441 FG%
Jeremy Lamb was a popular waiver wire add in November, and even made this list two weeks ago during a surge, however after a low week 8, he is now widely available again. Lamb stepped up early this season in the absence of Nicolas Batum, and with Batum's elbow injury flaring up again, Lamb will be getting 30+ minutes a night again whenever Batum is out.
Yes, Lamb had been struggling a bit of late, but he was dealing with a shin contusion. He has shown enough this season to convince fantasy owners that he is worthy of a roster spot, and he should be owned in all league due to his versatility and opportunity with the Hornets.
