It's Week 21. Some of us have started playoffs this week or are in the last week of the regular season! Regardless of your situation, this is the home stretch and working the waiver wire successfully in these next few weeks are key to making a strong run in the postseason. Here are some interesting adds that can help you with your season goals.
This year, we're tossing out our old convention of separating waiver wire posts into positions, and instead, we're separating them into of league -- standard, shallow, deep, etc. The NBA is trending to positionless basketball, so we at RotoBaller should too.
For shallow (8-10 team) league adds, we use a general rule of thumb of an ownership rate of under 65% on Yahoo. All position eligibility based on Yahoo leagues.

Shallow League Adds for Week 21
Larry Nance Jr. PF/C
Ownership: 54%
8.8 PPG / 6.7 REB / 1.4 STL / .601% FG
After the crazy trade deadline day that had Nance and Clarkson leave the 'building for the future' Lakers to the 'Championship or bust' Cavs, I really didn't see Nance Jr. becoming a viable option in shallow leagues. At most I saw him as a potential one night stream but with the front court injuries the Cavaliers are currently dealing with, Nance Jr. should be picked up across all formats for the foreseeable future. Tristan Thompson (ankle) and Kevin Love (hand) are out for a little while longer dealing with their injuries, which has given Nance Jr. the perfect opportunity to produce.
Larry got the start Monday night against the Pistons and surpassed everyone's expectations. He went 9 of 15 from the field, putting up 22 points, 15 rebounds and 2 steals. I wouldn't expect this output every night, but he does have the capacity to contribute across the board and with his new starting role he should see his stats rise as his minutes do as well. This may not be a long term add for your team but if your team needs an immediate boost for playoffs, this can be your guy.
JaMychal Green, PF/C
Ownership: 37%
10.4 PPG / 8.4 REB / .759 FT% / .453 FG%
With Memphis firmly out of playoff contention sitting at 18-45 in the Western Conference, it seems that they are looking towards their future. They have decided to occasionally rest or not rush back any of their key players from injury like Marc Gasol or Tyreke Evans and due to this, their young roster has gotten some shine as of late. Recently, it seems that JaMychal Green is stepping up to the opportunity to be a future part of this team.
Although this Memphis team can't seem to find much to be cheerful about this season, JaMychal has been extremely impressive after returning from an injury in January. He's hit a double double in eight of his last ten games and seems poised to continue his hot streak as the Grizzlies prep for their future. In his past 10 games, he's averaging 11.6 points and 10.1 rebounds. He is a must add as he has the potential to provide consistent stats like this for the rest of the season.
DeMarre Carroll , SG/SF
Ownership 57 %
13.5 PPG/ 6.6 REB / 2.0 3PM / .414 FG%
Another week, another fantasy stud emerges from a tanking NBA team. This time it's veteran DeMarre Carroll becoming an absolute steal for fantasy owners. He's been extremely reliable as of late for the Nets and has been putting up numbers across the board. In the past 10 games he's averaging 16.2 points and 7.7 rebounds. I don't expect any major roster changes for the Nets who probably miss the playoffs again this year, so DeMarre can be a key piece for you moving forward.
He had a huge game in Sunday's loss against the Clippers, going 6-12 from the field and finishing with 20 points and 7 rebounds. All of his made field goals were threes and this can help your fantasy team get you over the edge in your playoff matchups. DeMarre isn't shy about letting it fly from the field and there are nights where his shooting won't be as positive as they have been as of late, but if your team can bare with him during his cold shooting streaks, he has major upside on your fantasy roster.
