Deep League Adds for Week 14
Mario Hezonja, SG/SF, Orlando Magic (8% Owned in Yahoo! Leagues)
It's easy to forget Hezonja is not even 23 years old yet, as the former number 5 overall pick has had a pretty rough start to his career. There have been flashes at times for the Croatian, and the last month has been a reminder that he does indeed have some talent.
Hezonja has averaged 12.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.5 3-pointers over the last month in 26 minutes a game, and has seen those minutes trend up to 29 in the last 2 weeks. Those are acceptable numbers in 14+ team leagues and has him sitting inside the top-125 over that span.
On top of that, Evan Fournier's name has been popping up in trade rumors recently, and the Magic have no reason not to see what they have in their young guys if they end up trading away some of their veterans. If Fournier does get moved, Hezonja will be a lock for 30 minutes to close out the season, and has the potential to return top-100 value down the stretch. It's a good time to take a flier on him if your place in the standings allows.
Bam Adebayo, PF/C, Miami Heat (12% Owned in Yahoo! Leagues)
Bam Adebayo has the profile of an excellent fantasy player if given minutes, combining solid percentages with the potential for defensive numbers. Coach Erik Spoelstra seems to love the kid, and has said that Adebayo has earned minutes regardless of position or role, a huge vote of confidence in the rookie coming from a great coach.
In the past week, Adebayo has averaged 10.5 points, 6.5 boards and 3.5 assists along with 0.5 steals and 1.3 blocks on solid .471/.846 percentages.
If you are in a position to stash, there are definitely worse guys to take a flier on, and if the rookie earns more minutes as the season winds down, Adebayo can flirt with top-100 value if he were to consistently get 25-minutes a game.
T.J. McConnell, PG, Philadelphia 76ers (10% Owned in Yahoo! Leagues)
Here's a guy who is more of a pickup if you need production now than later. It really is a shock that McConnell is owned in only 10% of leagues.
The Sixers guard has quietly been a top-75 player over the last month, averaging 9.4 points, 4.4 assists and 1.5 steals over that stretch. He shoots a very high percentage for a guard and chips in accross the board.
There is a possibility that he won't be able to keep up his minutes with Markelle Fultz back, but he is a key part of the Sixers rotation, and can provide a jolt in some hard to find categories off the wire in the short-term. McConnell is even more effective in the right builds, as his last month numbers would be top-50 in punt points and punt 3s builds.
