Jusuf Nurkic, 3.0 3's Attempted (LOWER)
Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic faces the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night. The former Portland Trailblazer offers more spacing opportunities than Deandre Ayton ever did, but he is not among the few sharpshooting centers. In Tuesday's contest against the Golden State Warriors, Nurkic attempted two three-pointers and nailed one. While the shooting is a plus, Nurkic is needed closer to the basket, collecting rebounds on the offensive glass or rolling to the rim after a pick.
Kevin Durant, 5.0 Assists (LOWER)
Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant is one of the most efficient scorers of all time on what should be one of the best offenses in the NBA. Durant had averaged over five assists for most of his career before arriving in Phoenix. After putting on a Suns jersey, Durant's assists dropped from 5.3 to 3.5 per game. Chris Paul handled distribution last year, and Devin Booker should handle the playmaking duties this season. Durant collected three assists in the Suns season opener, and that trend should continue.
Gabe Vincent, 3.5 Rebounds + Assists (LOWER)
Los Angeles Lakers guard Gabe Vincent played 22 minutes off the bench in the Lakers season opener against the Denver Nuggets. Vincent accrued three combined rebounds and assists against the defending champions. The former Heat guard will not be tasked with playmaking or board crashing. The Lakers were one of the worst three-point shooting teams last season, and they will need Vincent to focus on shooting if they want to bounce back in that area.
Joel Embiid, 0.5 Double Doubles (HIGHER)
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid faces the Milwaukee Bucks in their season opener on Thursday night. The reigning MVP will take on the league's newest, and arguably best, duo. Embiid has averaged a double double in every season outside his rookie year, 2016. Facing one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference and missing former MVP James Harden, Embiid will likely do all he can to keep the Sixers in it. A double double from the Sixers big man seems attainable.
LeBron James, 20.5 Points (HIGHER)
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James takes on the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night. James scored 21 points on Tuesday night against the Denver Nuggets but fell short of the victory. The 38-year-old was an efficient scorer from the field, shooting 10-for-16 (63%), but was 1-for-4 on three-pointers and 0-for-1 on free throws. James was the only Lakers starter to play less than 30 minutes. The minutes may stay closer to 30, but James' usage is still enough to reach 21 points nearly every night.
Khris Middleton, 12.5 Points (HIGHER)
Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton faces the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday. Middleton's counting stats will suffer from the arrival of Damian Lillard, but he will still have opportunities to score. The 32-year-old has averaged over 13 points for nine straight seasons and will still see volume as the third option on the Bucks. Middleton can easily rack up 13 points, especially with his accuracy from deep.
