NBA Forwards: Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups & Sleepers

Hello again and welcome to a turbulent time in the Fantasy Basketball season. Those sneaky little pickups...aren't so sneaky anymore. Your buddy who has been dormant for a few weeks actually wised up and added the hot and trending players. It is that time of season when Fantasy Basketball Managers have to regroup and ask, "Who has been doing something lately?" So this week I present three forwards who have flown magically under the radar and can add a new surge of vitality to the most stagnant of rosters with they way they have been playing of late.

Be sure to check out RotoBaller's other Week 7 NBA coverage, including our Week 7 Waiver Wire Guards and Week 7 Waiver Wire Centers.

Position Eligibility & Ownership Rate Based on Yahoo! Fantasy Basketball Player List

NBA Week 7 Waiver Wire: Forwards

Mirza Teletovic (F, PHO) - Owned in 17% of Yahoo! Leagues

Mirza Teletovic may have not started a game out the 22 he has played, but he has been shooting lights-out and that makes him valuable. So far this year Teletovic is shooting 46% from 3PT range, 79% from the free throw line, and has an eFG% of 58.3%. His efficiency has given him a per game average of 8.5 points and 2.1 three pointers made, numbers that have only trended upwards as his playing time has increased. He is having by far the most efficient scoring season that he has ever had, averaging 17.3 points per 36 minutes. This makes Teletovic much more valuable as he starts to see more and more playing time. If Teletovic continues to keep up his efficiency, he should see more and more run, particularly if fellow forward Markieff Morris is traded away.

Dion Waiters (SG/SF, OKC) - Owned in 17% of Yahoo! Leagues

What makes Dion Waiters important is that while you may hope for other potential pickups to get more playing time, Dion Waiters is already averaging 28 minutes per game. This allows the pure volume of his production to increase. Dion Waiters has significantly improved his shooting this season with an 84% FT% and a 37% 3PT%. He is averaging 10.7 points per game, 2.1 assists, 3.6 rebounds, and most importantly 1.2 steals. His defense and long range shooting make him valuable, and Waiters is producing in pretty solid ways in about every category but blocks. His steal% of 2.1% may not be on par with other great defensive players in the league, but Waiters is seeing the floor enough to grab his average 1.2 steals, and for now, that is what is important for Fantasy Basketball Managers.

Evan Turner (SG/SF, BOS) - Owned in 21% of Yahoo! Leagues

Remember Evan Turner's triple-double ability when playing for Ohio State? Well he might not be racking up the same production in the pros, but the principle remains the same: Evan Turner creates production in many different statistics. He is currently averaging 25.8 minutes per game, and in that time he is producing 9.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.1 steals. He might be shooting an abysmal 15% from 3PT range, but he is at least shooting 81.6% from the free throw line. Per 36 minutes Turner would be averaging 12.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. His well rounded game is simply too good to ignore, especially when he is so widely available. If he sees more playing time he will be extremely valuable, but for now Fantasy Basketball Managers should be happy with Turner's defense, his rebounding, and the fact that he produces 3.5 assists as a forward.
