After a massive Wednesday-like slate on Tuesday, we have just six games on each site's main slate. As is often the case this time of year, we also have a significant amount of players sporting injury designations or already confirmed out. That means there are opportunities for value plays to step up, even beyond what we have listed here. Additionally, it will be important to be aware of postseason-related incentives for the teams of the higher-salary players, and it's also worth noting that all but one team, the Cavaliers, will be on the second night of a back-to-back set.
The key to being successful in NBA DFS comes down to making adjustments during the day as injury information becomes available. But it's always really important to have a game plan, and the best players and spots circled first before making those adjustments. To keep up with all the latest developments and get access to updated projections, grab an NBA season pass and also gain access to our RotoBaller Premium Discord, where @chiefjustice6 is talking about the slate up until lineups lock!
This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/10/24. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome NBA injuries report tool, as the slate can completely change before lineups lock at 7:00 p.m. EDT on FanDuel and DraftKings.
Good luck RotoBallers!
Today's NBA DFS Core Picks
We're not going to be able to avoid players on back-to-back sets tonight, and as mentioned previously, there's the chance some players on postseason contenders have their minutes abbreviated. Therefore, I'm honing in on just one game for my three core picks, as the Spurs are still playing competitively each night, and the Thunder are fighting for the No. 1 seed in the West.
Victor Wembanyama does have the potential to sit out Wednesday's game for rest, but head coach Gregg Popovich probably won't confirm anything one way or the other until much later in the day. Therefore, he remains a core play for me until further notice, given his massive upside and the fact he's averaged over 50 fantasy points on both sites in three games against the Thunder.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander returned from a four-game absence due to a quadriceps injury Tuesday and didn't miss a beat, going off for 61.3 DK/61.4 FD points in 38 minutes against the Kings. He's averaged just under 55 DK points in three games against the Spurs this season as well while shooting 58.5 percent, including 57.1 percent from three-point range, and San Antonio has struggled against point guards all season.
Chet Holmgren carries excellent upside for his very reasonable salaries and is averaging 36.9 DK points in three games against the Spurs himself this season. The big man has a ceiling north of 50 fantasy points on both sites and if Wemby does happen to sit out, he'll have an even easier path to production against a Spurs team already allowing a Western Conference-high 36.5 offensive efficiency rating to centers.
Victor Wembanyama. 🥶
— Hoop Central (@TheHoopCentral) April 10, 2024
- Victor Wembanyama, SAN at OKC – C ($11.5K DK; $12K FD)
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC vs. SAN – PG ($10.1K DK, $10.8K FD)
- Chet Holmgren, OKC vs. SAN – C ($7.2K DK; $7.9K FD)
Today's NBA DFS Value Picks
Staying with the theme of the Spurs and a potential Wembanyama absence, Tre Jones sets up as a very appealing value play whether or not his teammate suits up. The talented guard has averaged 34.6 DK/33.4 FD points over his last five games, and he put up 40 DK/39.2 FD points in his one game against the Thunder this season.
Grant Williams has often blown past his current salaries during his brief time with the Hornets, eclipsing 30 fantasy points on 12 occasions thus far in Charlotte. Five of those instances have come within the last six games alone, and he now faces a Hawks team ranked No. 25 in offensive efficiency rating allowed to centers.
Wendell Carter Jr. has been delivering excellent returns on investment recently, even though he turned in a modest performance Tuesday against the Rockets. The big man is still averaging over 30 fantasy points per contest in the last six games, even when factoring that in, and the Bucks will be short-handed in the frontcourt with Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) already ruled out Wednesday.
Top Value Plays:
- Tre Jones, SAN at OKC - PG ($5.8K DK; $6.6K FD)
- Grant Williams, CHA at ATL - PF/C ($5.4K DK; $6.2K FD)
- Wendell Carter Jr., ORL at MIL – C ($5.3K DK; $6.5K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Point Guard
Luka Doncic will be on the back end of a back-to-back set Wednesday and, therefore, carries some risk, but he'll be facing a Heat team that just played a double-overtime game in its own right Tuesday. If Doncic is a bit too rich for your blood, then Damian Lillard is now also a logical pivot, given Antetokounmpo's confirmed absence.
SGA and Jones were already discussed in the core plays above.
Top PG Options:
- Luka Doncic, DAL at MIA ($12.8K DK, $12.6K FD) or Damian Lillard, MIL vs. ORL ($9.2K DK; $9.1K FD)
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC vs. SAN – PG ($10.1K DK, $10.8K FD)
- Tre Jones, SAN at OKC - PG ($5.8K DK; $6.6K FD)
Today's NBA DFS Picks: Shooting Guard
The same caveat mentioned about Doncic above also applies to Kyrie Irving, but considering his ability to put together 60+ fantasy-point tallies on any given night, he has to be considered.
Cam Thomas also has a massive ceiling, making him perhaps the best mid-salary play on the slate, and he faces a Raptors team that's been defensively vulnerable all season.
Tyler Herro's status will have to be monitored because he could be sat out for rest on Wednesday, but if he's available, he has to be considered after averaging over 35 fantasy points in the last three games.
Top SG Options:
- Kyrie Irving, DAL at MIA - SG/PG ($9.2K DK; $9.7K FD)
- Cam Thomas, BKN vs. TOR - PG/SG ($7.7K DK; $8.1K FD)
- Tyler Herro, MIA vs. DAL – ($6.9K DK; $7.1K FD)
Today's NBA DFS Picks: Small Forward
With Antetokounmpo out Wednesday, Khris Middleton, who has a 32.1 percent usage rate and averages 42.3 DK/40.3 FD points per 36 minutes without his teammate on the floor, is an excellent mid-salary play regardless of the tough matchup on paper against the Magic.
Mikal Bridges has plenty of upside for his salary and is averaging over 30 fantasy points in three games against the Raptors this season. His production has fluctuated more than ideal lately, but Bridges is facing a Raptors team that's allowed an NBA-high 26.8 offensive efficiency rating to small forwards and over 47 fantasy points per contest on both sites to the position in the last 30 games.
Max Strus is on the one team that actually comes in with some rest on Wednesday, and he's eclipsed 30 fantasy points in three of his last four games. He also hung 34 DK/32 FD points on the Grizzlies in one prior game this season, and Memphis has a completely injury-decimated squad that's also given up the fourth-highest three-point shooting percentage on the season (37.9).
Khris Middleton has these guys so sick to their stomach 😭 pic.twitter.com/q2zU3Fz8Ox
— the clip guy (@GreekyGiannis) March 31, 2024
Top SF Options:
- Khris Middleton, MIL vs. ORL ($7.6K DK; $7.4K FD)
- Mikal Bridges, BKN vs. TOR ($6.7K DK; $7.2K FD)
- Max Strus, CLE vs. MEM ($6K DK; $5.8K FD)
Today's NBA DFS Picks: Power Forward
Paolo Banchero boasts one of the safest floors on the slate, and he's averaged over 45 fantasy points in two games against the Bucks this season. Most important, he'll face a Bucks frontcourt without Antetokounmpo on Wednesday.
Speaking of Giannis' absence, Bobby Portis stands to be a major beneficiary and already comes in averaging 33.8 FD points over his last 12 games.
Williams' appeal was already discussed in the Value Plays section.
Top PF Options:
- Paolo Banchero, ORL at MIL ($8.4K DK; $9K FD)
- Bobby Portis, MIL vs. ORL ($6.7K DK; $6.8K FD)
- Grant Williams, CHA at ATL - PF/C ($5.4K DK; $6.2K FD)
Today's NBA DFS Picks: Center
All three of these players were discussed in either the Core or Value Plays section, and the appealing aspect of them as a whole is that there's an option for you at each point of the salary cap.
Top C Options:
- Victor Wembanyama, SAN at OKC – C ($11.5K DK; $12K FD)
- Chet Holmgren, OKC vs. SAN – C ($7.2K DK; $7.9K FD)
- Wendell Carter Jr., ORL at MIL – C ($5.3K DK; $6.5K FD)
Today's Top NBA DFS Game Stacks
- Spurs at Thunder (226.0 points)
- Hornets at Hawks (218.5 points)
- Mavericks at Heat (218.0 points)
Today's Top NBA DFS Avoids
- I like the Mavs-Heat game overall, but much more so on the Dallas side, considering Miami's potential fatigue after Tuesday's double-OT marathon against the Hawks. Higher-end salary plays on the Heat are, therefore, risky in terms of being able to provide full value.
- The same applies to the Hawks to an extent, and the fact Trae Young may now be returning to action on Wednesday makes everything even murkier.
My Favorite NBA DFS Picks for Today
Here is where I leave you with some of my favorites.
- My favorite overall play on the slate: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
- My favorite CASH play on the slate: Paolo Banchero
- My favorite GPP play on the slate: Cam Thomas or Damian Lillard
- My favorite value play: Wendell Carter Jr.
