Welcome back, RotoBallers! We have another small five-game slate for this great Thursday evening. We have three teams on back-to-backs. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Washington Wizards are those teams, so keep an eye on those teams as they could have more guys on the injury report.
We have a few guys to keep an eye on when it comes to the injury report for today's slate. Those include LeBron James, Alperen Sengun, Darius Garland, Walker Kessler, John Collins, Alexandre Sarr, Naz Reid, Jalen Suggs, Caris LeVert, and Jerami Grant. Our top targets for games today are the Hawks/Cavaliers with a total of 237.5 and the Rockets/Grizzlies at 238.
This article will provide my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 1/30/25. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our excellent NBA injuries report tool, as the slate can completely change before lineups lock at 7 p.m. EST on DraftKings and FanDuel. Good luck, RotoBallers!
Today's NBA DFS Core Picks
Here is a look at some of the higher-priced players we can use as building blocks for cash and GPP contests.
Donovan Mitchell makes for an elite SG play and is one of my favorite pay-up options on this slate. The Hawks are giving up the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing SGs this season. Mitchell has been one of the best guards in the league this season and is averaging 40+ FP a game.
Evan Mobley will be one of the first guys I plug into my lineups today. Atlanta gives up the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing PFs this season and Mobley has been massive for the Cavs this season. He had 45 in two of his three games since coming back from injury, and with a matchup like this, I would expect a third one.
LeBron James will get a big bump in usage with Anthony Davis out. LeBron sees almost a 5 percent usage increase when Davis doesn't play, and on top of that, he gets an elite matchup against the Wizards, who are bleeding fantasy points to opposing SF/PFs this season. He is the most expensive play on the slate but should have upward of 50+ FP potential on this slate.
- Donovan Mitchell, CLE vs. ATL ($8,400 DK; $8,700 FD)
- Evan Mobley, CLE vs. ATL ($7,800 DK; $8,200 FD)
- LeBron James, LAL at WAS ($10,500 DK; $10,100 FD)
Today's NBA DFS Value Picks
This is where we talk about saving salary. Whether it's a severely underpriced backup or even as simple as a guy playing like someone who should be priced higher, this is where you'll find guys who make lineups work.
Isaiah Collier has been inserted into one of Utah's starting roles and thrived. He has scored 28+ in three straight games and now gets a solid matchup against Minnesota, which has given up the fourth-most fantasy points to PGs across the last 15 games. Collier has been playing close to 30 minutes a game since starting and I expect him to continue to play well at a cheap price.
Toumani Camara continues to impress this season and surprisingly hasn't seen much of an increase in his price throughout the season. He is averaging 31 FP across the previous four games while playing 34+ minutes. This includes a 38 FP performance against Orlando just last week, and with Jerami Grant possibly out, this could lead to a slightly higher usage for him.
Jaxson Hayes is an interesting play, but it comes with risks. With Jarred Vanderbilt back, it will likely hurt Hayes' minutes a little bit. With Anthony Davis down, he should see 25+ minutes in what should be an elite matchup against the Wizards, who give up the most fantasy points to opposing centers. Though his price is what it is, the risk may be worth it on a big game.
Top Value Plays:
- Isaiah Collier, UTA vs. MIA ($5,500 DK; $5,500 FD)
- Toumani Camara, POR vs. ORL ($5,500 DK; $5,400 FD)
- Jaxson Hayes, LAL at WAS ($4,500 DK; $4,500 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Point Guard
Dyson Daniels has been massive for this Hawks team this season, as he has 40+ FP in four straight games and now gets a decent matchup against the Cavaliers, who have given up the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing PGs across the last 15 games. I much prefer Daniels at $1.5K cheaper than Trae Young.
Anthony Black makes for an interesting play, but it could be ruined by a Jalen Suggs return. Black had 25 FP in their last matchup, which was ruined by a blowout. The Blazers give up the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing PGs. If Suggs were to return, I would end up fading Black.
The Jazz see an increase in corner 3PA when Isaiah Collier is on the floor, and it's easy to see why.
He's always looking to take advantage of weakside defenders giving too much space when helping

Top PG Options:
- Dyson Daniels, ATL at CLE ($7,500 DK; $7,900 FD)
- Anthony Black, ORL at POR ($4,900 DK; $5,600 FD)
- Isaiah Collier, UTA vs. MIA ($5,500 DK; $5,500 FD)
- Scoot Henderson, POR vs. ORL ($5,700 DK; $6,000 FD)
Today's NBA DFS Picks: Shooting Guard
Austin Reaves should be in a solid spot for this one with the Wizards giving up the most fantasy points to opposing PGs and SGs this season. He has been the primary ball-handler and has been big for getting assists for the Lakers. They will need his scoring, however, with them losing Anthony Davis as well.
Bilal Coulibaly had one of his best games recently against the Lakers. He finished with 38 FP, which is good for six times his price. Coulibaly tends to be more of an SF, which is good for us because the Lakers give up the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing SFs, but I like him more as an SG on this slate.
Top SG Options:
- Donovan Mitchell, CLE vs. ATL ($8,400 DK; $8,700 FD)
- Austin Reaves, LAL at WAS ($8,500 DK; $7,800 FD)
- Bilal Coulibaly, WAS vs. LAL ($5,500 DK; $6,200 FD)
Today's NBA DFS Picks: Small Forward
We already mentioned LeBron James and Toumani Camara but a couple of other guys I would keep an eye on include Rui Hachimura, Deni Avdija, Lauri Markkanen, and Anthony Edwards.
In his first game back, Franz Wagner had 20 points in 24 minutes of play. It looks like the Magic have taken him off the minutes limit and he should be good for closer to 35+. I don't see Portland blowing them out once again, and Portland gives up the second-most fantasy points to opposing SFs this season. Wagner has finished with 40+ in his last two games where he played 30 minutes.

Top SF Options:
- LeBron James, LAL at WAS ($10,500 DK; $10,100 FD)
- Franz Wagner, ORL at POR ($7,800 DK; $8,000 FD)
- Toumani Camara, POR vs. ORL ($5,500 DK; $5,400 FD)
Today's NBA DFS Picks: Power Forward
Julius Randle once again gets a solid matchup here against Utah, which has bled fantasy points to opposing PFs this season. Randle has averaged 35 FP a game this season and has 30+ in six straight games. With a matchup like this, he should be able to thrive in what should be one of the higher-scoring games on the slate.
Larry Nance Jr. looks to be back to being healthy and the Hawks need all the big men they can get. Jalen Johnson is out for the season, which should lead to Nance seeing big minutes in the rotation. Nance hasn't done much across the last two games he has played but has shown the ceiling he can have when playing 20+ minutes. At his price, I'll take a shot on him to get back into a more consistent rotation.
Top PF Options:
- Evan Mobley, CLE vs. ATL ($7,800 DK; $8,200 FD)
- Julius Randle, MIN at UTA ($7,500 DK; $7,400 FD)
- Larry Nance Jr., ATL at CLE ($4,500 DK; $4,300 FD)
Today's NBA DFS Picks: Center
If Deandre Ayton can continue to play at this level, then he should be highly considered on this slate. The Magic make for a tough matchup but we saw Robert Williams III finish with 37 against them last week. Ayton has finished with 40+ in three straight matchups and could very well go for another if he continues to play as well as he has.
If you believe in the revenge narrative, then Rudy Gobert is your guy. He gets an elite matchup against the Jazz, who give up the second-most fantasy points to opposing centers. Rudy Gobert averages a double-double against Utah along with nearly two blocks a game. At only $6.4K, he makes for a solid mid-tier center option.

Top C Options:
- Deandre Ayton, POR vs. ORL ($6,600 DK; $7,400 FD)
- Rudy Gobert, MIN at UTA ($5,600 DK; $6,400 FD)
- Jaxson Hayes, LAL at WAS ($4,500 DK; $4,500 FD)
Today's Top NBA DFS Game Stacks
- Hawks at Cavaliers (o/u 237.5)
- Timberwolves at Jazz (o/u 224.5)
- Rockets at Grizzlies (o/u 238)
Today's Top NBA DFS Avoids
I'm gonna be lighter on the Blazers/Magic game with it having the lowest total and only resulting in 180 total points scored just a week ago. There will still be a few spots but I will be lighter than the rest of the games. On a small slate, though, you have to be careful not to fade too much.
My Favorite NBA DFS Picks for Today
Here is where I leave you with some of my favorites.
- My favorite overall play on the slate: Evan Mobley
- My favorite CASH play on the slate: Donovan Mitchell
- My favorite GPP play on the slate: Julius Randle/Dyson Daniels
