The 2023-2024 NBA season is here, and our friends over at PrizePicks still have a TON of great props we can look to take advantage of. PrizePicks is a great DFS props site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power or flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.
Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the industry's best and easiest-to-win NBA DFS games. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a 100% match on your deposit up to $100.
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game. The second game is known as Single Stat. For the NBA, Single Stat consists of points, rebounds, assists, three-pointers made, and free throws made, in which you determine if the player in question will go over or under their projected total. You can mix and match players from each type of game in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Today, we will look at some single-stat scores for tonight, January 17.
Single Stat NBA Totals - DFS Prop Picks
Editor's Note: Prize Picks prop totals are not always available first thing in the morning, so check back during the day, as other props may be added during the day.
Devin Vassell UNDER 17.5 Points - The vibes are trending up for the San Antonio Spurs, but their 7.6 net rating in the last five games doesn't tell the whole story. While it's cute that the Spurs exhibited a slight interest in not being the worst team in the Western Conference, all but one of their opponents held a losing record during their recent stretch. Despite the Spurs' success against teams like the Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets, Devin Vassell shot a horrid 42.5 true shooting percentage.
Typically, I believe in zigging when everyone else zags, but I can't fathom Vassell snapping his terrible shooting slump against the best net rating in the league; the Boston Celtics. The Celtics are so deep it's reasonable to believe Vassell will struggle even against the second unit in case of a blowout affair. Tap the under on 17.5 points for Vassell.
Herbert Jones OVER 0.5 Blocks - I understand the last time we touched on a Herbert Jones prop bet, it didn't convert. However, consider the previous outing an anomaly. That game was insane. The New Orleans Pelicans scored 82 points in two quarters, and such a scoring stat wasn't the wildest occurrence. I doubt Tim Hardaway Jr. will erupt for 41 points again in his career, as Jones won't register a goose egg in the block department. Mash the over on 0.5 blocks for Jones as he lines up against the third-least efficient offense.
Paolo Banchero OVER 1.5 Blocks+Steals - Despite the Orlando Magic's recent struggles on offense without Franz Wagner (ankle), they still managed a 111.8 defensible rating, which ranks seventh league-wide for the past seven games. On the flip side of the ball, the Atlanta Hawks continue their trek toward Play-In purgatory. Atlanta's third-worst 1.67 assist-to-turnover ratio paints a vivid picture in the aforementioned seven-game stretch: the Hawks can't convert on baskets, and despite running the highest-paced offense, the risk outweighs the reward.

The NBA's 2023 Rookie of the Year, Paolo Banchero, entered the room just in time. Banchero had three steals and a block in an overtime victory over the Hawks on January 7. While his offense appears shaky without Wagner as the safety valve, Banchero's defense keeps the Magic as a threat against the waning Hawks. Smash the over on 1.5 combined blocks and steals for Banchero.
Luka Doncic OVER 50.5 Points+Rebounds+Assists - Luka Doncic is listed as questionable on the most recent injury report after missing three games due to an ankle injury. The Dallas Mavericks' next opponent is the Los Angeles Lakers, which points to Doncic playing. Since entering the league, Doncic has displayed his appreciation for LeBron James by continually improving his stats against arguably the greatest player ever.

In the two games Doncic played against the Lakers this season, No. 77 averaged 31.5 points, nine rebounds, and 12.5 assists. Wednesday's line for Doncic's combined points, rebounds, and assists currently sits at 50.5. The last time Doncic played in Lakers' territory, he recorded a 35-point triple-double. I believe "Luka Magic" will turn heads in his return to Los Angeles, ultimately covering the over on 50.5 combined points, rebounds, and assists.
