Early betting projections have to be one of the best aspects of playoff basketball from an off-the-court perspective. With so much time to digest past games and analyze future ones, projections come out early and in bulk, making it easy for bettors to take their time on set-combination-parlay sites like PrizePicks, MonkeyKnifeFight, Underdog, and so on. So far, PrizePicks has three players (Jayson Tatum, Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo) listed to score at least 30 points, with four (Embiid, Antetokounmpo, Al Horford, and Nikola Vucevic) estimated to get at least ten rebounds and ultimately double-double. Only Pascal Siakam is listed under the ‘Double-Double’ category so far and with his consistent usage through two games, there’s a very good chance he goes for a double-double tonight, scraping into triple-double territory. The Raptors haven’t got much of anything from the rest of the team, but Siakam is the one player that will at least initiate, force the issue and get to the rim like he always has. Any improved play from his supporting cast would drastically increase his production and his floor naturally hovers around 17 points, seven rebounds and a handful of assists if the Raptors can hit…another emphasis on if.

PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game. The second game is known as Single Stat. For NBA, Single Stat consists of points, rebounds, assists, three-pointers made, and free throws made, in which you determine if the player in question will go over or under their projected total. You can mix and match players from each type of game in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Today, we will look at some single-stat scores for tonight, March 1.

Kyrie Irving OVER 28.5 Points – Game 1 made it clear that Kyrie Irving can pick up the slack if Kevin Durant doesn’t play well, but how often does Durant not play well? 23 points on 24 shots is uncharacteristic and swapping Durant for Irving here isn’t a terrible strategy regardless. Both players are going to lead the charge in scoring, but who ends up the tip of the spear depends on the night. The Celtics defense has the size to create a wall, making Durant hit his midrange shots, but contested or uncontested, that’s a high percentage shot for him. Both players are looking at upwards of 20 shots tonight and even though Celtics defense won’t make it easy, Irving is leaving another stamp on Game 2.
Tyrese Maxey OVER 18.5 Points – With all the weapons the 76ers currently have, Tyrese Maxey might be the most unlikely player to score 20 points each night, yet he’s their leading scorer through two games. The offense continues to funnel through Joel Embiid and James Harden, but Harden is doing way more passing these days than shooting. Maxey is their go-to guy and the Raptors defense is unable to stop the Philadelphia backcourt attack, so even with the shots likely to be more consistent with Harden and Embiid in terms of quantity, Maxey’s efficiency currently unrivaled and his momentum is peaking.
Nikola Vucevic OVER 10.5 Rebounds – The Bucks frontcourt is anchored by Giannis Antetokounmpo when he’s at the five, but the Brook Lopez-Nikola Vucevic matchup favors the Bulls. Vucevic had a massive Game 1 statline against Milwaukee and looking the Chicago’s struggles, it’s easy to see his were the most disguised. Even though he scored the most points, he only generated 24 points on 27 shots, forcing DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Coby White into more active roles in the offense for Game 2. Even though we can assume that Vucevic won’t take as many shots, his role as the centerpiece in the Bulls frontcourt should allow him to grab another 12+ rebounds tonight.
