Hello everybody and welcome! The 2021 NBA season is finally underway and that means our new friends over at PrizePicks have a TON of great props we can look to take advantage of. PrizePicks is a great DFS props site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.
Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the best and easiest to win NBA DFS games in the industry. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a 100% match on your deposit up to $100.
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game. The second game is known as Single Stat. For NBA, Single Stat consists of points, rebounds, assists, three-pointers made, and free throws made, in which you determine if the player in question will go over or under their projected total. You can mix and match players from each type of game in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Today, we will look at some single-stat scores for tonight, October 18th.

Single Stat NBA Totals
Jrue Holiday Over 6.5 Assists - We have an Eastern Conference semi-final rematch here on opening night, and one of the plays I really like here is Jrue Holiday over 6.5 assists. Jrue continuously smashed this number on the Bucks’ championship run, hitting this number in 18 of 23 possible games, including each of his last 13. To be fair, he did only hit this number in three of seven against Brooklyn, but if we dig a bit deeper we’ll see that this goes deeper than just the playoffs. I have Jrue projected to play 30 minutes on the low-end tonight, and in games where he played at least 30 minutes, he’s hit this number 34 of 64 times. I expect Jrue to pick up where he left off in the Finals and set up his teammates in what should be a high-scoring game.
Giannis Over 1 Threes Made - If you’ve watched the Bucks’ preseason games, or you’re just addicted to NBA Twitter like I am, you’d see all the videos of Giannis knocking down jumpers in what is a scary sight for the NBA. He’ll be more or less picking up his production from last season, though. When Giannis played at least 30 minutes last year, he knocked down a three in 45 of 64 games, or 70%. He hit at least one three in eight of ten against Brooklyn overall, including five of the seven playoff games. I think he wants to set the tone early tonight and will knock two or three down, and at worst, I’m comfortable taking the push.
Carmelo Anthony Under 2.5 Threes Made - The “new-look Lakers” will certainly be an interesting watch this season, as LeBron looks to “reclaim the throne” and Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony look for their first championship titles. I can’t expect Melo to start, but you would be foolish to think that he and one or two of LeBron/AD/Westbrook will be on the floor at the same time for a lot of his minutes. While it may be a pain for opposing defenses, it’s not ideal for Melo fantasy-wise, as there will hardly be any usage to spare. On top of that, I don’t expect Melo to play more than 30 minutes, let alone 25. In games where he played less than 30 minutes last year, he only hit this number in 18 of 63 games, only 29%. While I’m excited to see what Melo can do for the Lakers this season, I can’t see him hitting this number tonight.
Other Recommendations - James Harden over 25.5 points, Jrue Holiday over 2 threes made, Russell Westbrook over 17.5 points, LeBron James over 24.5 points
Overall recommendation for this play: FLEX
