NBA DFS Prop Picks for PrizePicks: Friday, January 12

Stephen Curry - NBA DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball

The 2023-2024 NBA season is here, and our friends over at PrizePicks still have a TON of great props we can look to take advantage of. PrizePicks is a great DFS props site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power or flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.

Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the industry's best and easiest-to-win NBA DFS games. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a 100% match on your deposit up to $100.

PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game. The second game is known as Single Stat. For the NBA, Single Stat consists of points, rebounds, assists, three-pointers made, and free throws made, in which you determine if the player in question will go over or under their projected total. You can mix and match players from each type of game in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Today, we will look at some single-stat scores for tonight, January 12.

Single Stat NBA Totals - DFS Prop Picks

Editor's Note: Prize Picks prop totals are not always available first thing in the morning, so check back during the day, as other props may be added during the day.

Keegan Murray OVER 2.5 3-PT Made - Aside from the Sacramento Kings' 4-1 stretch in their last five games, Keegan Murray's also experiencing a streak. In Sacramento's recent run, Murray has four games in which he recorded multiple three-point shots, ultimately averaging three conversions from such range.

Even without the reigning MVP suited up for action (knee), the Philadelphia 76ers defended the three-point shot exceptionally well in their last five games -- holding opponents to a stunning 31 percent. However, without rolling out the red carpet prematurely, the surging but not serious Chicago Bulls and the Utah Jazz combined for three of the five Philadelphia opponents in the aforementioned period. Short of legitimate wing defenders, I see the Sixers failing to contain Murray on the perimeter. Tap the over on 2.5 three-point shots recorded for Murray.

Zach LaVine OVER 20.5 Points - It's easy to disparage Zach LaVine. Vibes surrounding the two-time All-Star dipped since the Chicago Bulls enjoyed a 10-8 record without their supposed star player, in addition to his inconsistent play prior to his right foot injury. However, another team is struggling on a sadder level: the Golden State Warriors. Falling from grace is one thing, but the Warriors seem to flirt with self-destruction weekly.

Golden State fails to hinder opposing offenses, ranked bottom-seven in defensive rating and short of their soon-to-return best defender in Draymond Green. LaVine, even at sub-100 percent, shouldn't struggle against such a bumbling opponent. With all that said, I expect LaVine to cover the over on 20.5 points.

Jaden Ivey UNDER 18.5 Points - While nearly everything about the 2023-2024 campaign stinks for the Detroit Pistons, sophomore Jaden Ivey miraculously finds himself in Monty Williams's "good place" following a questionably low minute log for a young player on a rebuilding team. Despite finding recent success on the scoreboard, Ivey averaged 15.4 points in his previous five outings, with a recent 19 and 22-point performances against less-than-stellar defenses.

Regarding defense, the Pistons' next opponent pesters opponents efficiently. Ranked fourth in defensive rating, the Houston Rockets offer a variety of bothersome wings and decent centers to keep the Pistons down on morale and in the standings. While the decent scoring burst from Ivey looked good, Houston presents a problem for the recently-emerged Ivey. Look for Ivey not to cover the 18.5 line for points.

Stephen Curry OVER 27.5 Points - Betting against Stephen Curry feels immoral. Even in the darkest hour, I see light in the four-time NBA champion. Witnessing this recent scoring drought in which Curry scored a combined 24 points in two games suggests the basketball gods won't possibly allow such an abysmal run to continue. Up against the Bulls on Friday, I sense a dominant scoring performance from Curry. The line currently sits at 27.5, and Curry hasn't eclipsed the scoring prop since the soul-sucking loss against the Denver Nuggets.

Look for Curry to remind the world why he is the NBA's sole unanimous MVP winner by hitting the over on 27.5 points.

Overall recommendation for this play: POWER
