The 2023-2024 NBA season is here, and our friends over at PrizePicks still have a TON of great props we can look to take advantage of. PrizePicks is a great DFS props site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power or flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.
Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the industry's best and easiest-to-win NBA DFS games. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a 100% match on your deposit up to $100.
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game. The second game is known as Single Stat. For the NBA, Single Stat consists of points, rebounds, assists, three-pointers made, and free throws made, in which you determine if the player in question will go over or under their projected total. You can mix and match players from each type of game in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Today, we will look at some single-stat scores for tonight, December 22.
Single Stat NBA Totals - DFS Prop Picks
Editor's Note: Prize Picks prop totals are not always available first thing in the morning, so check back during the day, as other props may be added during the day.
Nic Claxton OVER 9.5 Rebounds+Assists - Friday night's matchup between the Denver Nuggets and the Brooklyn Nets will be a barnburner or an oddly tight contest. Although the Nets currently exist as a meddling Eastern Conference team, further slipping into irrelevance as they lost four of their last five games by double digits, it's time for them to show some backbone at the Barclays Center.
Regardless of the final score, Brooklyn's starting center, Nic Claxton, will play a part on the boards. Currently, the line sits at 9.5 combined rebounds and assists for Claxton. While Claxton hasn't dominated in either category, evidenced by the relatively low line, he's covered the prop three of his last five outings, with one conversion against the Nuggets in a blowout loss -- covered in only 17 minutes of action. Push the over on 9.5 combined rebounds and assists.
Nikola Jokic OVER 9.5 Assists - Ring the bells and alert the town; I have something important to say: always bet the over on assists for Nikola Jokic. Jokic has yet to disappoint in the assist department regarding my experience in prop betting, as he's always looking to involve his teammates, even in commercials. Up against the meh-Nets, Jokic presumably won't need to assert dominance by scoring and has a chance to flex his creative muscle by dishing out highlight-worthy assists.
Slam the OVER on 9.5 Assists, as Jokic could record his 11th triple-double of the 2023-2024 season.
Joel Embiid UNDER 34.5 Points - Before starting the 2023-2024 season, I figured Joel Embiid's numbers would dip after winning the 2022-2023 regular season MVP. Clearly, I was wrong. Not only is he performing like a repeat MVP, but he's only missed three out of 27 possible games.
Regarding recent play, Embiid's last five performances warrant MVP chants, as he averaged 41 points in such a span. That said, I'm taking the under on 34.5 points for Embiid. Although my confidence in publicly betting the under on 34.5 points for Embiid makes me appear as crazy as the lady on the plane, unlike her, at least I believe in what I'm saying.
Furthermore, a small detail is vital to the conversation: The Toronto Raptors are one of only three teams this season to hold the reigning MVP to sub-30 points. Lightly tap the under on 34.5 points, as it's admittedly a dangerous prop, but a sensible one nonetheless.
Jamal Murray OVER 20.5 Points - For a player whose playoff resume assumes one of an All-Star, Jamal Murray hasn't lived up to such a reputation in the regular season. However, in his defense, Murray continues to climb up from the constant injuries. Performing under the public's perception, Murray scored over 20 points only twice in his last five games.
Despite the aforementioned issues, Murray is due for another explosive game, especially at the expense of the 21st-ranked defense regarding defensive rating. As previously referenced, I project Jokic will take a backseat scoring-wise, leaving his two-man game partner, Murray, to take over the contest.
Overall recommendation for this play: POWER
