NBA DFS Lineup Picks & Sleepers – FantasyScore Advice for 12/8

All throughout the 2014-15 campaign, RotoBaller will be giving you the top NBA DFS lineup picks at the guard, forward and center positions as well as a couple of sleepers for the day. Below are our favorite picks for December 8th, 2014.

Keep in mind, fantasy basketball is a fickle game when it comes to injured players, so be sure to check all lineups prior to tip-off. If you want to chat about your roster picks, check out the DFS chat room at the bottom of this post.

Worth the Investment

Stephen Curry (GSW, G) - $9,000

There are a limited amount of games Monday night, so taking the player who is likely to be the top scorer is a near must. That is the position that Curry is in against a poor Timberwolves defense.

Curry has been incredibly consistent, producing over 31 fantasy points in 10 straight games, and finishing with over 44 fantasy points in half of those. Minnesota currently ranks 29th in the NBA by allowing a staggering 110.6 points per game, and are especially bad against opposing point guards. Curry will take up a good chunk of your cap, but should be more than worth the cost.

Rudy Gay (SAC, F) - $6,900

Despite players like LeBron JamesBlake Griffin and Kevin Love, it is Rudy Gay who is the top dollar-for-dollar play tonight. The Kings have struggled without DeMarcus Cousins in the mix, but Gay has boosted his fantasy value with three 40 fantasy point performances over his last five games.

Gay has scored over 20 points in 4-of-5 games while also grabbing at least 4 rebounds in eight consecutive games. Like Sacramento, Utah has been struggling lately, dropping eight straight while allowing opponents to score 104.6 points per game.

For a discounted price, you cannot argue against selecting Gay and his 37.2 fantasy points a game.

Marcin Gortat (WAS, C) - $5,600

Without a doubt, center is the most shallow position Monday night. That leaves Gortat as the top option due to his consistent play, great match-up and discounted price. Prior to his last two contests, Gortat averaged 42.3 fantasy points over a three-game stretch.

It is a bit of a concern that the Wizards are playing a home-and-home with Boston, and Gortat only put up 7 points with 8 rebounds against the Celtics on Sunday. However, the duo of Tyler Zeller and Kelly Olynyk should not scare anyone away. Look for Gortat to bounce back and find his way to a double-double.

Top Sleepers

Zach LaVine (MIN, G) - $2,400

In his last game, LaVine became only the fourth teenager in NBA history to post a points and assists double-double. That opportunity came mostly due to Mo Williams missing the game and leaving the team with only one point guard on the roster. Williams is again questionable, and even if he does play, expect LaVine to log at least 25 minutes.

In Minnesota’s last five games, LaVine has contributed efforts of 1.00 and also 43.75 fantasy points, so the rookie out of UCLA does come with some uncertainty.

Mason Plumlee (BRK, C) - $3,800

Plumlee has not been good of late, as he has put together just one effort of over 13 fantasy points during the Nets' last eight games. However, he should see a big boost in production with the news that Brook Lopez is out for at least this week.

Both Plumlee and Kevin Garnett figure to get an uptick in production, and at the same price, it is debatable which is better to own. With that said, both should be able to make 5X value. On a small slate, that is great production.
