All throughout the 2014-15 campaign, RotoBaller will be giving you the top NBA DFS lineup picks at the guard, forward and center positions as well as a couple of sleepers for the day. Below are our favorite picks for November 23rd, 2014.
Keep in mind, fantasy basketball is a fickle game when it comes to injured players, so be sure to check all lineups prior to tip-off. If you want to chat about your roster picks, check out the DFS chat room at the bottom of this post.
Worth the Investment
Ty Lawson (DEN, G) - $6,000
Lawson is my favorite play today. He is having a fine season, averaging 16.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, 9.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He has been the only consistent source of offense for the Nuggets this season.
What makes Lawson enticing today is his mouth-watering matchup against the Lakers, as the Staples Center tenants are the worst team in the NBA at defending the point guard position.
Lawson is a steal at this price regardless of the opponent, but is an absolute no-brainer pick today. Expect him to have a field day against the Lakers.
Kenneth Faried (DEN, F) - $5,100
Faried has had an up-and-down season thus far. He comes in averaging just 11.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.8 blocks to this point.
The real issue with Faried is that the Nuggets have found themselves on the wrong side of several blowouts so far. Therefore, he has been pulled early multiple times, keeping his minutes and production down.
The matchup against the Lakers is just too juicy to ignore. I expect this game to be close, so Faried should see plenty of minutes. When he is on the court, he is a beast, and the Lakers are the third worst team at defending power forwards.
At his current price, FantasyScore is practically giving Faried away. He is a must-play and should explode in this matchup.
LaMarcus Aldridge (POR, C) - $8,100
I know what you are thinking, Aldridge is a power forward, not a center. Well, you would be right. However, on FantasyScore, you can play him at center, which makes him even more valuable.
Aldridge missed a game last week due to an illness, but has come back from it just fine, scoring 22 and 16 points in his last two respectively, along with nine boards in each.
Boston gives up the most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing power forwards, so even though Aldridge is the most expensive option at center, his price is reasonable. He should dominate the Celtics frontcourt and put up a monster game.
Sleepers
Jordan Hill (LAL, C) - $4,600
Hill is having a spectacular season, averaging 14.2 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 0.9 blocks per game. He has been on fire lately, posting five consecutive double-doubles. That trend should continue on Sunday.
This game has high scoring written all over it, as neither the Lakers or Nuggets have shown any interest in playing defense this season. The Nuggets notoriously struggle to contain opposing big men, so Hill is primed for another huge game. Do not pass him up at this price.
Mario Chalmers (MIA, G) - $4,300
Chalmers began the season coming off the bench, but now an injury to Dwayne Wade has forced him back into the starting lineup. He was productive in a reserve role, but has thrived since returning to the starting unit. In the five games that Wade has missed, Chalmers is averaging 20.0 points, 6.4 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.2 threes per game.
The Heat have few scoring options outside of Chris Bosh, so Chalmers should continue his excellent play as long as Wade is sidelined. Even if Wade returns on Sunday, Super Mario should still see plenty of minutes and be productive.
Chalmers has an outstanding matchup, as Charlotte gives up the third most fantasy points to opposing point guards. At this price, he is an easy pick.
