Worth the FanDuel Investment
Mo Williams (CHA, PG) - $6,600
Instant-Mo! I try not to write about the same guy two articles in a row, but Mo Williams is forcing an exception to the rule. In his last game against Orlando, Williams racked up 23 points, 11 assists, and 2 rebounds. Suffice to say, the Charlotte Hornets are completely relying on Mo Williams to run their offense. This interesting trend of Charlotte going away from the Al Jefferson post-up as the main scoring option shows the team’s willingness to go by a traditional point guard driven offense. This is perfect for Williams, as he is averaging 23.4 points and 7.0 assists per game since joining the Hornets. As long as Kemba Walker is out, Williams will continue to provide the Hornets with shot attempts and pile up the assists. Williams should further the trend against the Lakers on Tuesday, as most point guards have little to no trouble putting up solid stats against their backcourt.
Honorable Mention: Isaiah Thomas (BOS, PG)
Terrence Jones (HOU, PF) - $6,500
After missing the majority of the year with nerve issues, Terrence Jones has come back healthy and is producing at an incredible clip. The Rockets have won all eight games in which Jones has started, and will definitely need to rely on him on Tuesday with both Dwight Howard out with injury and James Harden out due to suspension. Jones will need to make up for Harden’s shot attempts. In his last six games, Jones has averaged 14.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks. Jones should get plenty of post-up attempts as the Rockets will have to scrap together any offense they can on Tuesday against the Hawks, a team that will likely break down the sets that the Rockets typically run now that Harden will not be playing in the game.
Honorable Mentions: Rudy Gay (SAC, SF), Pau Gasol (CHI, PF)
Joakim Noah (CHI, C) - $7,200
Joakim Noah is another good player who has had a difficult season dealing with injuries. However, Noah will have to become more like the Noah from last year if the Chicago Bulls would like to not freefall down the playoff standings in the east. With both Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose out for possibly the remainder of the regular season, Noah should expect to pick up both his scoring and assist averages. We have already started to see that with Noah in the past few games that Rose has missed. Since the All Star break, Noah has averaged 8.2 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 6.0 assists. With the Bulls currently lacking so much offensive production, Noah should very likely average a double-double from here on out, as well as a sizable amount of assists to supplement his production.
Honorable Mentions: Marc Gasol (MEM, C), Rudy Gobert (UTA, C)
Sleeper DFS Picks
Jae Crowder (BOS, F) - $4,800
Jae Crowder is quietly becoming a nice asset in Boston. With injuries to Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk, Crowder has been allowed to dominate inside for the Celtics. In his last five games, Crowder has averaged 15.0 points and 8.6 rebounds. In his last game against Golden State, Crowder grabbed an eye-opening 17 rebounds. Crowder should continue to put up double digit shot attempts for the Celtics as long as they do not have their big men, as he and Isaiah Thomas seem to be making the absolute most of their opportunity to shine on their new team. Crowder’s production is a great bargain at his price on FanDuel.
Honorable Mentions: Trevor Ariza (HOU, SF), Corey Brewer (HOU, SF)
