Worth the Investment
LeBron James (CLE, SF) - $11,000
Despite playing against the defensive-oriented Pacers, LBJ is nearly a must-start Friday. Obviously he is a threat to record a triple-double every day he suits up, but he clearly is looking the healthiest he has looked all season. He put in only 28 minutes in Thursday's blowout over the Clippers so he should be fresh in this second game of a back-to-back. Playing at a thin position across the league, LBJ is clearly the best option Friday night.
Klay Thompson (GS, SG) - $7,800
Since his 52 point outburst on January 23rd, the junior Splash Brother has seen a decrease in minutes and production and his owners should be wary. Look for him to bounce back in Atlanta. The Hawks have a propensity to give up solid FanDuel points to opposing guards, typically those that can shoot, and Thompson is due in the rotation to see minutes in the high-30s.
Brook Lopez (BKN, C) - $6,700
Whether he is going to be a starter or coming off the bench, he is the best big man Brooklyn has. And he will faceoff against the Knicks. We all love taking players that face the Knicks.
Carlos Boozer (LAL, PF) - $6,000
Surprisingly and quietly the veteran big man has put up solid numbers in four out of the last five games. Boozer has hit his stride in the Laker offense and should see a lot of usage through him while on the floor against a Magic team that struggles mightily against defending the four. Orlando has given up the most FanDuel points to opposing power forwards over the last 10 games. With a manageable price tag, Boozer should give great value Friday night.
Deron Williams (BKN, PG) - $5,600
Two games back from injury and Williams has already seen 29 and 33 minutes, respectively, coming off the bench. Even more appealing is his zero turnover game against the Raptors on Thursday. It won't be long before Williams regains his starting spot over Jarrett Jack and it is very possible that happens Friday night. And oh yeah, he will be facing the Knicks.
Top Sleeper
Wayne Ellington (LAL, SG) - $5,000
The Friday night FanDuel lineup is going to feature a heavy amount of medium range pricetags on players. Hence, Ellington is a little more expensive than the normal sleeper featured on this list, but he is the cheapest option on the slate.
As explained above, Orlando has given up the most points to the power forward position over the last ten games and the same could be said at the shooting guard spot as well. Ellington has averaged 22.3 FDPPG over the last nine games. Not an overwhelming number but certainly a number that shows he is capable of consistently producing. Boozer arguably remains as the top scoring option Friday night, but with an apparent ankle injury to starting swingman Wesley Johnson, Ellington should get more of the workload against a reeling Magic team.
