Worth the Investment
Eric Bledsoe - $8900
Bledsoe has seemingly emerged as the leader of the three headed dragon in Phoenix. Even though Phoenix’s point guards are admittedly difficult to use due to the crowded backcourt, Bledsoe has become the number one scoring option as well as the team leader in assists. In his last eight games, Bledsoe has averaged 20.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 6.9 assists, and 1.9 steals. Bledsoe’s heating up correlates directly with the Suns’ great record of late. Phoenix has won 8 of their last 10 games, and this is through the use of Bledsoe as the main point guard. Phoenix has picked up the pace of their games, allowing all of their guards ample field goal attempts. Bledsoe has not shied away from these opportunities at all, attempting 12.6 field goal attempts per game. Bledsoe shows no signs of slowing down, and will easily be the best guard option on Tuesday.
Honorable Mentions: Brandon Jennings, Brandon Knight
Giannis Antetokounmpo - $6300
Tuesday’s lineup of wingmen is not looking too good. With a short schedule, Antetokounmpo is easily the best player at the small forward position, if you can say he is a small forward. Antetokounmpo has been putting up great big man stats. Over the last seven games, he has averaged 6.9 rebounds, 2.6 blocks, and 10.7 points. Antetokounmpo doesn’t usually get too much attention due to his scoring inconsistencies. However, his elite blocks can compensate for his scoring. Look for Antetokounmpo to continue padding his stat line against the high pace Phoenix Suns. The Suns may be heating up, but also allow the third most points per game in the league this season. Antetokounmpo should have no trouble cleaning the glass in this style of play.
Honorable Mentions: Gerald Green, Greg Monroe
Andre Drummond - $9200
Drummond has finally become the player we wanted him to be this season. Even before the departure of Josh Smith, Drummond had already begun to completely fill his stat line with his scoring, rebounds, steals, and blocks. Detroit has now won 5 in a row and we can become even more confident in playing Drummond without Josh Smith in the frontcourt. In his last six games, Drummond has averaged 15.5 points, 16.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 2.2 blocks. Drummond has become more confident in his role on this Pistons team, and provides excellent value at the center position.
Honorable Mention: Zaza Pachulia, Tiago Splitter
Sleeper Pick
Tony Parker -$6300
Pay attention to the injury reports as game time approaches Tuesday afternoon. As I write this, Parker is listed as questionable for Tuesday’s matchup against the Pistons. His value is noticeably low due to his constant injuries. Parker has only played in two out of the Spur’s last twelve games. However, that does not mean the Parker can’t come back and make a huge impact in fantasy. On December 22nd, when Parker returned from injury against the Clippers, he was able to put up 26 points. When Parker starts, he can put up huge numbers in points and assists. Use this injury report to your advantage and have an upper hand against those who set their lineups too early Tuesday night. Good luck to Parker’s hamstring.
Honorable Mentions: Khris Middleton, Patty Mills
