Worth The FanDuel Investment
Victor Oladipo (SG, ORL) - $8,400
The two-guard position is looking rather thin for Friday night’s slate of games. Though Oladipo’s price is tied for the most expensive price tag, he should churn out the most FDP for a shooting guard against a Portland team that has struggled to defend the backcourt as of late.
Hassan Whiteside (C, MIA) - $8,200
Talk about a mismatch. The Nuggets have been terrible defensively all season against opposing big men and Whiteside this season has fit the bill as the prototypical big man. If there was ever a time to project someone to get into the high teens in rebounds, that time is now. Look for Whiteside to have big FanDuel numbers in Friday’s game against Denver.
Paul Millsap (PF, ATL) - $7,800
Two injuries should factor in helping out Millsap in Friday’s game against Oklahoma City. Serge Ibaka will be out for a few weeks and hence will not be able to d-up against Millsap, while Millsap’s backup Mike Scott sustained a toe injury and will also not be available for a few weeks. Look for Millsap’s minutes and FDP to increase into the high-30s and low 40s, respectively.
Elfrid Payton (PG, ORL) - $6,900
Payton dropped a triple-double in his last outing in what was possibly his most efficient game of the season. The Orlando guard has been playing quite well throughout the month of March and his numbers suggested it was only going to be a matter of time before he did hit the triple-double numbers.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the ball, the Trailblazers have been giving up the fourth most FDPPG to opposing point guards over the last ten games. With high per game averages in both rebounds and assists against Portland, Payton just may flirt with a triple-double yet again.
Luol Deng (SF, MIA) - $5,900
Take advantage of Deng’s price while it has dropped somewhat against a Nuggets team that has consistently been the worst against opposing swingmen all season. The Heat have not gotten a ton of production from their bench over the last month so Deng will continue to be relied upon to shoulder the bulk of the scoring. He should not have any problems against the porous Denver defense.
DFS Sleeper Pick
Dion Waiters (SG, OKC) - $4,300
Waiters has not exactly been lighting it up as of late and DFS players can look at his recent poor production in one of two ways. Either this trend will continue or he is poised to break out against Atlanta. We prefer the latter. The Hawks’ frontcourt defense has struggled as of late compared to how they fared in the earlier part of the season and Oklahoma City will need as much scoring as possible to complement Russell Westbrook.
